Pan mae goleuni'r sanctaidd ddydd

(Sancteiddio'r Sabboth)
Pan mae goleuni'r sanctaidd ddydd
  Yn deffro dynolryw;
Ni awn i'r Ysgol Sul yn llon,
  I ddarllen Gair ein Duw.

      Cyssegrwn y sanctaidd ddydd,
      Mawr les i ni a fydd;
    Trwy Air ein Duw
             Cawn hedd dilyth,
    A'r Nef yn gartref byth.

Cawn yma ddysgu gwersi pur,
  Am Iesu Grist a'i groes;
A'n henill oll i ddwyn yr iau,
  Yn awr, yn morau'n hoes.

Tôn [8686+7686]: Sancteiddio'r Sabboth
    (William Griffith)

(Sanctifying the Sabbath)
When the lights of the sacred day are
  Waking humankind;
We go to the Sunday School cheerfully,
  To read the Word of our God.

      Let us consecrate the sacred day,
      Great benefit to us it shall be;
    Through the Word of our God
            We have unfailing peace,
      And heaven as a home forever.

Here we may learn pure lessons,
  About Jesus Christ and his cross;
And we are all won to bear the yoke,
  Now, in the morning of our age.
tr. 2025 Richard B Gillion
