Pan fo difrod dros y ddaear,
A thrallodau'n fwy na rhi,
Diolch iti, Iesu hawddgar,
Fod tangnefedd ynot ti;
Dafn o hono
Dry ofidiau yn fwynhad.
Blino'r wyf ar anwadalwch
Addewidion goreu'r byd,
Cysgod yw eu holl ddiddanwch
O fy mlaen yn ffoi o hyd;
Digyfnewid
Yw tangnefedd Iesu mawr.
Pan fo calon lawn o hiraeth
Yn ymdroi yn niwl y glyn,
A chymylau siomedigaeth
Yn gorchuddio gobaith gwyn,
Yn Dy gwmni
Daw goleuni yn yr hwyr.
O Dy drigfan anweledig
Tyred, Iesu, ataf fi;
Os yw'r drysau yn gauedig
Nid yw hynny'n ddim i Ti,
Gād im' wledda
Ar Dy felys eiriau mwy.

When there is destruction across the earth,
And afflictions more than number,
Thanks to thee, beautiful Jesus,
That there is peace in thee;
A drop of this
Turns griefs into enjoyment.
Grieved I am at the inconstancy
Of the best promises of the world,
A shadow is all their comfort
Before me fleeing always;
Unchangeable
Is the peace of great Jesus.
When the heart is full of longing
Loitering in the fog of the vale,
With the clouds of disappointment
Covering bright hope,
In thy company
Light shall come in the evening.
From thy unseen dwelling-place
Come, Jesus, to me;
If the doors are locked
This is nothing to thee,
Let me feast
On thy sweet words evermore.
