Paid byth ag ymollwng
    i bechod, cei glwy',
Trwy un oruchafiaeth
    ennilli un fwy;
  Ymdrecha yn wrol
      hardd ymdrech y ffydd,
  "Gan edrych ar Iesu"
      Cei nerth
              'nol y dydd.

    Ceisia gymhorth gan Iesu,
    Cadarn ydyw i'th nerthu,
    Parod ydyw i'th helpu,
  Cei ganddo Ef nerth
             yn ôl y dydd.

O! gochel ddrwg gwmni,
    i'th galon gwnant friw,
Na chymer yn ofer
    lân Enw dy Dduw;
  Yn ddewr a difrifol,
      ymnertha mewn ffydd
  "Gan edrych ar Iesu"
      Cei nerth
              'nol y dydd.

Do not yield
    to sin, thou shalt get a wound,
Through one victory
    thou shalt win one more;
  Struggle manfully
      the beautiful struggle of the faith,
  "Looking upon Jesus"
      thou shalt get strength
                     according to the day.

    Seek help from Jesus,
    Firm he is to strengthen thee
    Ready he is to help thee,
  Thou shalt get from him strength
                     according to the day.

O shun evil company,
    to thy heart they will make a bruise,
Do not take in vain
    the holy name of thy God;
  Bravely and seriously,
      grow strong in faith
  "Looking upon Jesus"
      thou shalt get strength
                     according to the day.

Yield not to temptation,
    for yielding is sin;
Each vict'ry will help you
    some other to win;
  Fight manfully onward,
      dark passions subdue;
  Look ever to Jesus,
      He'll carry you through.


    Ask the Saviour to help you,
    Comfort, strengthen and keep you,
    He is waiting to aid you,
  He will carry you,
      (carry you) through.

Shun evil companion;
    bad language disdain;
God's name hold in reverence,
    nor take it in vain:
  Be thoughtful and earnest,
      kind-hearted and true;
  Look ever to Jesus,
      He'll carry you through.
