Pa le'r â f'enaid gwan,
  O dan ei faich a'i boen,
I draethu ngofid blin a'm cwyn,
  Ond at yr addfwyn Oen?


Beth bynag ydyw'r bai

  Yn d'erbyn di a gaed,

O dangos imi, Iesu cu,

  A dwg fi at dy draed.


Pa rwystrau bynag sydd,
  Rho fi yn rhydd, O Dad;
A'th felys foli
    fydd fy ngwaith
  Am iachawdwriaeth rad.

Where shall my weak soul go,
  Under its burden and its pain,
To express weary grief and my complaint,
  But to the gentle Lamb?


Whatever is the fault

  That there is against thee,

O show me, dear Jesus,

  And bring me to thy feet.


Whatever obstacles there are,
  Set me free, O Father;
And to praise thee sweetly
    shall be my work
  For free salvation.

Ah! whither should I go,
  Burdened and sick and faint?
To whom should I my trouble show,
  And pour out my complaint?

What is it keeps me back,
  From which I cannot part,
Which will not let the Saviour take
  Possession of my heart?

Searcher of hearts, in mine
  Thy trying power display;
Into its darkest corners shine,
  And take the veil away.

In me is all the bar,
  Which Thou wouldst fain remove;
Remove it, and
   I shall declare
  That God is only love.
