O! tyred, Ysbryd Glān,
P'am yr ymdroi cyhyd?
A rho dy nefol dan
I galon oer y byd;
Mae'n marw mewn trueni mawr,
O! sanctaidd Ysbryd, tyrd i lawr.
Anadla'r dwyfol wynt,
Ar Seion yn y pant;
Fel y dylanwad gynt
Ddisgynodd ar Dy blant;
Gad ini deimlo maes o law,
Achubol nerth y byd a ddaw.
Clyw gŵyn aneirif lu,
Yn griddfan dan eu gloes;
A'u bywyd yn rhy ddu
I wel'd goleuni'r groes;
Aed heibio'r nos, cyfoded gwawr,
O! addfwyn Ysbryd, tyrd i lawr.
Evan Rees (Dyfed) 1850-1923
Tôn [666688]: |
O come, Holy Spirit!
Why doest thou linger so long?
And give thy heavenly fire
To the cold heart of the world;
It is dying in great misery,
O Holy Spirit, come down!
Breathe the divine wind,
On Zion in the hollow;
Like the former influence
Which fell on Thy children;
Let us feel soon,
The saving strength of the coming world.
Hear the complaint of an innumerable host,
Groaning under their throes;
And their life too black
To see the light of the cross;
The night has passed, let the dawn rise,
O gentle Spirit, come down!
