O Iesu, Ceidwad mawr y byd,
Rho fywyd yn ein plith;
Ac agor ddor i draethu'th air,
Na chauir mo'ni byth.
Ymddangos heddyw yn ein mysg,
Fel, yn dy wisg o waed,
Y'th welwyd gynt
ar ben y bryn,
A'r gelyn dan dy draed.
Agorwyd ffynon dan dy fron,
Yn hon mae rhinwedd byth;
Fe olchwyd ynddi'n berffaith lān,
Rai aflan rif y gwlith.
Aed son am hon
trwy'r byd ar led,
A gwared, trwy dy ras,
O feddiant Satan, cnawd, a gwae,
Dylwythau'r ddaear las.
Llyfr Tonau (Stephen a Jones) 1868
Tonau [MC 8686]: |
O Jesus, great Saviour of the world,
Give life in our midst;
And open a door to expound thy word,
Which is never to be shut.
Appear today amongst us,
As, in thy clothing of blood,
Thou wast seen of old
on the summit of the hill,
With the enemy under thy feet.
A fount was opened under thy breast,
In this is merit forever;
Washed in it perfectly pure were
Some unclean ones numerous as the dew.
Let mention of this go
throughout the world abroad,
And deliver, through thy grace,
From the possession of Satan, flesh and woe,
The tribes of the blue-green earth.
tr. 2015 Richard B Gillion |
Jesus, great Saviour of the world,
Oh, give us life and peace;
Oh, open Thou the way to preach
Salvation full of grace.
To-day appear Thou in our midst,
Thy garment dyed with blood,
As Thou wert
on the mountain seen
With death beneath Thy rod.
There was a fountain opened then
To wash away our sin;
And in this fountain shall be washed
The foulest perfect clean.
Now spread through all the world
his praise,
Free redemption, free grace,
From Satan's yoke, the world, the flesh,
To millions of our race.
