O fy enaid, chwilia'n fanwl
Am drysorau
can'-mil gwell,
Nag a fedd y greadigaeth;
A'm canlyno
i'r wlad bell:
Am wirionedd yn fy ngwaelod,
Ag a'm dalio i'r dydd a ddaw,
Fel y gallwy'n hy' wynebu
'R hwn sy' a'r clorian yn ei law.
Dyna'r dydd bydd
sobr bwyso,
Ar gyflyrau
a beiau'r byd;
Bernir yn y diwrnod hwnw
Byw a meirw oll i gyd;
O am grefydd yn ei sylwedd,
Crefydd bery hyd y bedd,
Crefydd ag a'm deil yn angeu,
Uwch y ṭnau garw eu gwedd.
Caniadau Y Cysegr 1866
(Digon ar gyfer y Farn)
O! fy enaid, chwilia'n fanwl
Am drysorau
canmil gwell
Nag a fedd y grëeadigaeth;
A'm canlyno
i'r wlad bell:
Am wirionedd yn fy nghalon,
Ag a'm dalio'r dydd a ddaw,
Iesu'n Briod digyfnewid,
Iesu'n noddfa gadarn draw.
Dyna'r dydd o gywir bwyso,
Ar gyflyrau pawb o'r byd;
Bernir yn y diwrnod hwnnw
Fyw a meirw oll i gyd;
O! am grefydd yn ei sylwedd,
Ag a bery hyd y bedd,
Crefydd ag a'm deil yn angau,
Uwch y tonnau garwa'u gwedd.
1: Dafydd William 1720-942: Anhysbys (Llyfr Emynau a Thonau 1929) Tôn [8787D]: Bavaria (F Mendelssohn-Bartholdy 1809-47) |
O my soul, seek carefully
For treasures
a hundred thousand times better,
Than the creation possesses;
And that will follow me
to the distant land:
For truth in my base,
And that will pay me in the day to come,
Thus I may boldy face
Him who has the scales in his hand.
This is the day when there will be
serious weighing,
On the conditions
and faults of the world;
To be judged in that day are
Living and dead all together;
O for belief in his substance,
Belief that will endure until the grave,
Belief that will hold me in death,
Above the waves of rough appearance.
(Sufficient for the Judgment)
O my soul, seek carefully
For trearures
a hundred thousand time better,
Than the creation possesses;
And that will follow me
to the distant land:
For truth in my heart,
Which will pay me in the day to come,
Jesus an unchanging Spouse,
Jesus a firm refuge yonder.
That is the day when of serious weighing,
On the scales, of everyone of the world;
To be judged on that day are
Living and dead all together;
O for belief in his substance,
That will endure until the grave,
Belief that will hold me in death,
Above the waves of roughest appearance.
