O! ryfedd hir
    amynedd Duw
Yn oedi barn, yn cadw'n fyw;
  A throi y prif erlidiwr cas
  Yn bennaf un o lestri gras.

Estynnwyd llaw trugaredd fawr
O'r nef i iselderau llawr
  At frwnt droseddwr, codwyd ef
  I uchaf lys
      y drydedd nef.

Cyssegrodd Paul ei ysbryd hyf,
Ei ddisglair ddawn,
    a'i ddeall cryf,
  I ddwyn ymlaen ei sanctaidd waith
  Ymysg cenhedloedd o bob iaith.

O'i enau ef yn bêr eu blas
Eglurwyd athrawiaethau gras;
  Crist oedd ei bopeth -
      Crist a'i Groes
  A'r Iawn dros
      bechod byd a roes.

O! Arglwydd Iesu, rhwyga'r llen,
Ac o'r goleuni pur uwchben
  Amlyger Di,
      nes dychwel myrdd
  O ddynion o'u drygionus ffyrdd.

Tafl eto olau dwyfol bryd
I ddyfnaf gelloedd
    nos y byd -
  Nos rhagfarn -
      nos genlyniaeth ddu -
  Llewyrchodd yno gariad cu.

O! brysia, cymer feddiant llawn
O'r uchaf ddysg
    a'r gwychaf ddawn,
  A dwg bob talent
      fedd y llawr
  I adeiladu d'Eglwys fawr.

O wonderful long-suffering
    patience of God
Delaying judgment, keeping alive;
  And turning the foremost persecutor
  Into the chief of the vessels of grace.

The hand of great mercy was extended
From heaven to the low places of earth
  To a filthy transgressor, he was raised
  To the highest court
      of the third heaven.

Paul consecrated his proud spirit,
His radiant gift,
    and his strong understanding,
  To carry on his sacred work
  Amongst the nations of every language.

From his mouth with their sweet taste
He explained the teachings of grace;
  Christ was everything -
      Christ and his cross
  And the satisfaction for the
      sins of the world that he gave.

O Lord Jesu, rend the curtain,
And from the pure light above
  Be Thou made evident,
      until a myriad of men
  Return from their evil ways.

Cast again the light of a divine time
Into the deepest cells
    of the world's night -
  The night of prejudice -
      the night of black enemies -
  There shone dear love.

O hurry! take full possession
Of the highest teaching
    and the most brilliant gift,
  And take every talent
      the world possesses
  To build thy great Church.
