O Iesu, gobaith yr holl fyd,
Gobaith yr Indiaid draw;
Cyflawna addewid fawr dy ras,
I'r truan maes o law.
Ti wyddost, Arglwydd, beth yw trai
O eisieu dyfroedd pur;
A bod yr anial maith yn gras
Heb gael cysuron gwir.
Mae temtasiynau'r ddraig yn gryf,
A minnau d'wyf ond gwan;
'Nid oes ond dwyfol nerth y nef
A'm deil i byth i'r lan.
Mae llid o'r dwyrain
ac o'r de,
Am gael fy mhen i lawr;
Tragwyddol gariad ydyw ef
A'm dwg i'r lan ryw awr.
Un radd o haeddiant addfwyn Oen,
Sy fwy na'm beiau o'r bron;
Ac yn ei rinwedd llawenhâf,
Tan groesau'r ddaear hon.

Tôn [MC 8686]: Christ's Church (<1835) gwelir: O edrych arnaf Arglwydd mawr |
O Jesus, the hope of the whole world,
The hope of distant India;
Fulfil the great promise of thy grace,
To the wretches soon.
Thou knowest, Lord, what is lacking
From the need of pure waters;
And that the vast desert is arid
Without getting true comforts.
The temptations of the dragon are strong,
An I am only weak;
There is only the divine strength of heaven
That will hold me up forever.
There is wrath from the east
and from the south,
To bring my head down;
Eternal love is he
Who will lead me up some hour.
One degree of the merit of the dear Lamb,
Is greater than my faults completely;
And in his virtue I rejoice,
Under the crosses of this earth.
