O f'enaid, beth a wnai?
Digofaint Duw a gai,
Heb Adda'r ail, yn sail,
i'r farn os ai:
Dy dŷ a ddaw i lawr ryw ddydd,
Os tywod iddo'n sail y sydd;
Ac yna ti gai weled
Pa faint dy golled fydd.
Adeilad ar y graig,
Hen rymus Had y wraig,
A ddeil yn dda, tan
ddryccin mwya'r ddraig:
Er holl dymhestloedd uffern ddu,
Yn curo ar ei sail y sy,
Mae'r diafol a'i holl allu
Yn methu taflu'r tŷ.
Fe saif i fynu fur,
Tŷ pob credadyn pur,
Er gwaetha grym pob corwynt
llym a'i cur:
Y garreg sylfaen dano sy
Yw'r maen profedig, gynt a fu
Yn ngwyneb deddf ofynol,
A llid y diafol du.
Syrth pob adeilad dyn
A'i sail sydd arno'i hun
Ac nid ar Grist,
i lawr yn drist ei lun:
Saif tŷ y Cristion,
union wr,
Yn loyw deg, uwchlaw y dw'r,
Am fod ar graig ddïogel,
Hen sylfaen uchel siwr.
Yr enaid gwanna'i ffydd,
A'i sail ar Grist y sydd,
Er gwynt a gwlaw, i'r lan
y daw ryw ddydd:
Mae'r graig sydd dano'n un mor fawr,
Rhy uchel i'w chael i lawr;
Pwy ddichon mwy orchfygu
Y rhai sy yn Iesu'n awr?
Crist ydyw'r sylfaen byw,
A ddeil holl eglwys Dduw,
I lawr nad êl,
mewn rhyfel o un rhyw:
Caiff yn ei gysgod hynod ef,
Fel iachus Graig,
fyw loches gref;
A'i symmud i'w gymdeithas,
Mewn urddas, yn y nef.

O my soul, what shall I do?
The wrath of God I shall get,
With the second Adam as a foundation,
to the judgment if I go:
Thy house shall come down some day,
If there is sand as its foundation;
And then thou shalt get to see
How great thy loss shall be.
A building on the rock,
The old forceful Seed of the woman,
Shall hold well, under the
greatest storms of the dragon:
Despite all the tempests of black hell,
That are beating upon its foundation,
The devil and all his power is
Failing to cast down the house.
Stand up shall the wall
Of the house of every pure Christian,
Despite the force of every sharp
hurricane and its beating:
The foundation stone that is underneath it
Is the proven stone that once was
In the face of a demanding law,
And the wrath of the black devil.
Fall shall every building of man
With its foundation that is upon himself:
And not on Christ,
fallen, sadly his condition:
Stand shall the house of the Christian,
an upright man,
Shining fair, above the water,
Since it is on a secure rock,
An old, high, sure foundation stone.
The soul with weakest faith,
That has it's foundation on Christ,
Despite wind and rain, up
it shall come some day:
The rock that is under it is just as great,
Too high to be brought down;
Who is capable any more of overcoming
Those who in Jesus now?
Christ is the living foundation stone,
That will hold all the church of God,
Down he shall not go,
in battle of any kind:
He shall get in his notable shadow,
Like a healthful Rock,
a strong, living refuge;
And to move to his company,
In honour, in heaven.
