O am nerth i ddilyn Iesu

O! am nerth i ddilyn Iesu,
  Yn ein gyrfa drwy y byd;
Cadw'i air ac anrydeddu
  Ei orch'mynion glân i gyd;
    Dilyn Iesu,
  Dyma nefoedd teulu Duw.

Cafodd bedydd fawredd bythol
  Yn ei ymostyngiad llawn;
Ninnau, ar ei air, yn wrol,
  Ar ei ôl drwy'r dyfroedd awn;
    Dilyn Iesu,
  Dyma nefoedd teulu Duw.

Er fod rhiwiau serth i'w dringo
  Gyda'i gariad i'n cryfhau;
Ysgafn yw ei faich i'w gario,
  Ysgafn, esmwyth yw yr iau:
    Dilyn Iesu,
  Dyma nefoedd teulu Duw.

Y mae llwybrau ei orchmynion,
  Er holl rwystrau'r
      anial du,
Yn cyfeirio'r pererinion
  I'r trigfannau dedwydd fry;
    Dilyn Iesu,
  Dyma nefoedd teulu Duw.

O for strength to follow Jesus,
  In our course through the world;
Keeping his word and honouring
  His all his pure commands;
    Following Jesus,

He received a baptism of everlasting greatness
  In his full submission;
We, on his word, bravely,
  Following him through the waters let us go;
    Following Jesus,

Although there are steep hills to climb
  With his love to strengthen us;
Light is his burden to carry,
  Light, smooth is the yoke:
    Following Jesus,

The paths of his commandments are,
  Despite all the obstacles
      of the black desert,
Directing the pilgrims
  To the happy habitations above;
