Mor anchwiliadwy ydyw gwaith
Ein Duw at ddyn trwy'r oesoedd maith!
Ei ffyrdd sydd yn y môr bob awr,
A'i lwybrau yn y dyfroedd mawr!
Mewn dyfnder anfesurol mae
Yn dwyn i ben ei waith di drai;
Nis gwyddom 'nawr pa beth a wna;
'Nol hyn cawn wel'd mewn amser da.
Try weithiau gwmwl dua'r nen
Yn gafod bendith ar fy mhen;
A'r gofid mwyaf o fy mla'n
All droi yn destun melys gân.
Ni wel fy rheswm lawer pryd
Ond gwg a gwae
ar lenwi'r byd;
Ond ffydd a genfydd pwy sydd be,
A gwên fy Nuw tu draw i'r llen.
Trwy foroedd mawr, dan boen a chur,
Ni hwyliwn tua'r Ganaaan bur;
Wrth ffydd, ac nid wrth olwg, awn
Trwy'r anial llwm
i'n lletty llawn.

Tonau [MH 8888]: |
How unsearchable is the work of
Our God towards man through the vast ages!
His ways arein the sea every hour,
And his paths in the great waters!
In the immeasurable depth he is
Bringing to completion his unebbing work;
We do not know now what he does;
After this we may see in good time.
Sometimes the black cloud of the sky turns
Into a shower of blessing on my head;
And the greatest worry before me
Can turn into the theme of a sweet song.
My reason sees nothing many a time
But a frown and woe
about to fill the world;
But faith discerns who is what,
And my God's smile beyond the curtain.
Through great seas, under pain and wound,
We sail towards the pure Canaan;
By faith, and not by sight, we go
Through the sparse desert
to our full lodging.
