Tonau [MC 8686]: |
There are promises, a sweet feast,
Complete and free,
In thy pure covenant of peace
Eternal its lasting.
I desire to come
To the sumptuous, tasty feast;
And thus may I get to sound praise
For the wonderful force of thy grace.
O bind me to the post of thy gates!
To stay as long as I live,
To look on thy face and thy wonder,
And praise Thee my God.
Thou be my very ready help
To support me on my journey;
And Thou Thyself be my full treasure
To a vast eternity.
If stay I may within thy house
While my fragile life persists,
I will sing with the throng above
Forever and ever
about the virtue of the Cross.
