I Ti, fy Nuw rhof foliant rhydd,
Am freintiau dwys
oleuni'r dydd:
Gwna i mi noddfa gadarn gu,
Dan gysgod dy adenydd di.
Er mwyn dy anwyl Fab dy hun,
O maddea 'meiau mawr bob un,
Fel cyn yr hunwyf b'wyf o hyd,
Mewn hedd â thi, fy hun a'r byd.
Dysg i mi fyw, a myn'd mewn hedd,
Fel 'rwyf i'm gwely felly i'm bedd:
Dysg i mi farw a bod heb fraw,
Pan ddelo Crist
ar gwmmwl draw.
Gwna i mi orphwys heno o hyd
Yn dawel dan dy adain glyd
A do'd yn wiw at dorriad wawr
I foli'n fwy fy Arglwydd mawr.
Os yn y nos y cilia'm hûn,
I'm henaid dwg feddyliau un;
Un yspryd drwg neu freuddwyd cas,
Na ddeued i gynhyrfu'th was.
I Dad y trugareddau 'gyd,
Rhown foliant
holl drigolion byd;
Llu'r nef moliennwch ef ar gân,
Y Tad a'r Mab
a'r Ysbryd glân.

Tonau [MH 8888]: |
To Thee, my God, I give free praise,
For the privileges of
the intense light of the day:
Make for me a dear, secure refuge,
Under the shadow of thy wings.
For the sake of thy own dear Son,
Oh, forgive my great faults every one,
That before I sleep I will be always,
In peace with thee, myself and the world.
Teach me to live, and go in peace,
That I shall be to my bed as to my grave:
Teach me to die and be without terror,
Whenever Christ should come
on yonder cloud.
Make me rest tonight always
Quietly under thy cosy wings
And come worthily to the break of dawn
To praise evermore my great Lord.
If in the night my sleep retreats,
To my soul bring the same thoughts;
May no evil spirit, or detestable dream,
Come to agitate thy servant.
To the Father of all mercies,
Let us render praise,
all the inhabitants of the world;
Ye host of heaven, praise him in song,
The Father and the Son
and the holy Spirit.
I shall be to my bed :: I shall go to my bed tr. 2015,25 Richard B Gillion |
Glory to thee, my God, this night,
For all the blessings
of the light:
Keep me, O keep me, King of kings,
Beneath the shadow of thy wings.
Forgive me, Lord, for thy dear Son,
The ill that I this day have done;
That with the world, myself, and thee,
I, ere I sleep, at peace may be.
Teach me to live, that I may dread
The grave as little as my bed;
Teach me to die, that so I may
Rise glorious at
the awful day.
O may my soul on thee repose,
And with sweet sleep mine eyelids close;
Sleep that shall me more vigorous make
To serve my God when I awake.
When in the night I sleepless lie,
My soul with heavenly thoughts supply;
Let no ill dreams disturb my rest,
No powers of darkness me molest.
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise him,
all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heavenly host:
Praise Father, Son,
and Holy Ghost.
