Iesu Grist sydd heddyw'n fyw

Surrexit Christus hodie / Jesus Christ is risen today

(Dydd Pasg)
Iesu Grist sydd heddyw'n fyw,
    Haleliwia.
Gwyl ein buddugoliaeth yw:
    Haleliwia.
  Dyoddefodd ar y groes,
      Haleliwia.
  Prynodd euog ddyn rhag loes.
      Haleliwia.

Seiniwn ninnau'r anthem gref,
Mawl i Grist sydd Frenin nef:
Trech na'r bedd ac angeu prudd,
Daeth i'r lan, mae'r caeth yn rhydd.

Iechyd yn ei glwyfau gaed,
Prynedigaeth trwy ei waed;
  Uwch y ser teyrnasa byth,
  Lle cān engyl yn ddilyth.

[Mesur: 7474D]

(Easter Day)
Jesus Christ is today alive,
    Hallelujah.
The festival of our victory it is:
    Hallelujah.
  He suffered on the cross,
      Hallelujah.
He redeemed guilty man from anguish.
      Hallelujah.

Let us sound the strong anthem,
Praise to Christ who is the King of heaven:
Victorious over the grave and sad death,
He came up, the captive is free.

Health in his wounds was got,
Redemption through his blood;
Above the stars he shall reign forever,
  Where angels sing unfailingly.
tr. 2025 Richard B Gillion

Jesus Christ is risen today,
    Alleluia.
Our triumphant holy day,
    Alleluia.
Who did once, upon the cross,
      Alleluia.
  Suffer to redeem our loss,
      Alleluia.

Hymns of praise then let us sing,
Unto Christ, our heavenly king,
Who endured the cross and grave,
  Sinners to redeem and save.

But the pains which He endured,
Our salvation hath procured,
Now above the sky He's king,
  Where the angels ever sing.
