Hosanna gwyd yn awr

  Hosanna gwyd yn awr
    At orsedd duw ei hun,
  Disgynnodd Iesu mawr
    I drigo gyda dyn;
Ac ar y ffordd a gerddodd ef
Mae porth agored nef y nef.

  Ar ol yr Iesu'r awn,
    Ymdeithiwn tua'r nef,
Ac wrth ei ddilyn canu wnawn
    Hosanna iddo ef.

  Am iddo ar y bryn
    Ogwyddo'i ben brynhawn
  A marw'n sanctaidd wyn,
    A'i angeu'n ddwyfol iawn,
Hosanna bur i Frenin nef,
Hosanna byth i'w enw ef.

  Anthemau'n ddiwahardd
    Gân etifeddion ffydd
  Am newydd fedd yr ardd,
    A bore'r trydydd dydd;
Mae'r glyn yn awr yn foliant byw,
Ac yn y bedd angylion Duw.

  Esgynnodd drwy y llen,
    Yn obaith euog fyd,
  Ac ar ei orsedd wen
    Teyrnasu mae o hyd:
Ni dderfydd rhinwedd mawr ei glwy,
Ac ni fydd tranc i'w deyrnas mwy.

  Addewid Iesu mawr
    Gyflawnwyd dros y lli;
  A'i ysbryd sydd yn awr
    Yn aros gyda ni;
Hosanna bur i Frenin nef,
Hosanna byth i'w enw ef.
Evan Rees (Dyfed) 1850-1923

Tôn [666688.6686]:
    Hosanna iddo Ef (David Evans)

  Hosanna rises now
    To God's own throne,
  Great Jesus descended
    To dwell with man;
And on the road which he walked
There is an open portal of the heaven of heaven.

   After Jesus let us go,
     Let us travel towards heaven,
And while following him let us sing
     Hosanna unto him.

  Because he on the hill
    Bowed his head in the afternoon
  And died as a holy lamb,
    And his very divine death,
Pure hosanna to the King of heaven,
Hosanna forever to his name.

  Unhindered anthems
    The song of the heirs of faith
  For news of the garden tomb,
    And the morning of the third day;
The vale is now living praise,
And in the grave the angels of God.

  He ascended through the curtain,
    As the hope of a guilty world,
  And on his white throne
    He is still ruling:
The great merit of his wound will not pass away,
And there never will be any passing of his kingdom.

  The promise of great Jesus
    Was fulfilled across the flood;
  And his Spirit is now
    Staying with us;
Pure hosanna to the King of heaven,
Hosanna forever to his name.
