Gwir geni Crist, Tywysog hedd,
Pur isel wedd, mewn preseb;
Y Tad o'r nef wrth dderbyn Iawn,
Cyhoeddodd lawn foddlondeb.
Pan gafodd Crist yn ôl y Gair,
O'r anwyl Fair ei eni,
Angylion nef canasant fawl;
Rhyw garawl yn rhagori.
Eneinniwyd Crist,
gwir fabmaeth Mair,
I lenwi tair o swyddau:
Offeiriad, Prophwyd, teg ei wawr,
Wir Frenin mawr ar fronau!
Amlygwyd ef yn wir Fab Duw
Wrth wneuthur amryw wyrthiau;
Ond adgyfodiad Iesu gwyn
Sy'n profi hyn yn ddiau.
Esgynodd ef, yn ol ei daith,
I wlad y perffaith fywyd;
Mae'n eiriol frŷ; - oddiyno'n llawn
Disgynodd dawn ei Ysbryd.

Truly Christ was born, the Prince of peace,
Of a pure, lowly appearance, in a manger;
The Father from heaven on receiving a Ransom,
Published full satisfaction.
When Christ got, according to the Word,
From the blessed Virgin born,
The angels of heaven sang praise;
Some carol excellently.
Christ was anointed,
the true foster-son of Mary,
To fulfill three offices:
Priest, Prophet, fair his dawn,
True great King on breasts!
He was manifest as the true Son of God
Through performing various miracles;
But it is the resurrection of blessed Jesus
That is proving this doubtlessly.
He ascended, on his return journey,
To the land of perfect life;
He is interceding above; - from there fully
Descended the gift of his Spirit.
