Gwel Bererin yn yr afon, -
  Gwel e'n ngafael
      gelyn cas;
Gwel e'n llawer mwy gorchfygwr,
  Yn nerth cariad
      Dwyfol Ras;
Mae ei obaith fel yr haulwen,
  Mae ei ffydd yn gadarn, gref,
Nid oes ofn yr afon arno,
  Gan y gorphwys arno Ef;
  Gan y gorphwys arno Ef.

Gorfoleddu mae wrth farw
  Yn y Duw sydd iddo'n rhan;
Rhan dragwyddol fydd i'w enaid,
  Rhan ddigonol yn mhob man;
Saeth ei weddi gwyd yn eglur, -
  "Arglwydd Iesu, derbyn fi;"
Llais o'r nef a glyw ei enaid, -
  "Tyn di yma atom ni;"
  "Tyn ni yma atom ni."

See a Pilgrim in the river, -
  See him in the grip
      of a detestable enemy;
See him much more of an overcomer,
  In the strength of the love
      of divine grace;
His hope is like the sunshine,
  His faith is firm, strong,
He has no fear of the river,
  Since he rests upon Him;
  Since he rests upon Him.

He rejoices as he dies
  In the God who is a portion to him;
An eternal portion he shall be to his soul,
  A sufficient portion in every place;
The arrow of his prayer rises clearly, -
  "Lord Jesus, receive me;"
A voice from heaven hears his soul, -
  "Draw thou here to us;"
  "Draw thou here to us."
