Gristion Buddugoliaeth llef

(Gwaith Gorphenol Crist)
Gristion, "Buddugoliaeth" llef!
Iesu ddaeth ei hun o'r nef;
  I'th waredu byth o boen,
  Fe fu farw'r addfwyn Oen!

Cod dy olwg at y groes,
Gwel yr Iesu'n dyodde'r loes;
  Yno yn gogwyddo'i ben,
  Pan orphenwyd ar y pren.

Rhoed boddlonrwydd trwy ei waed,
Hyn yw sail ein cyfiawnhad;
  Carcharorion aeth yn rhydd,
  Cenir byth
      wrth gofio'r dydd.

Moliant byth i'r Drindod lân,
Tad, a Mab ac Ysbryd Glân;
  Caned gwaredigion Duw
  Haleluia tra f'ont byw.

Tôn [7777]: Pleyel's Hymn (I J Pleyel 1757-1831)

(The Finished Work of Christ)
Christian, cry "Victory!"
Jesus himself came from heaven;
  To deliver thee forever from pain,
  The gentle Lamb died!

Raise thy sight to the cross,
See Jesus suffering the anguish;
  There bowing his head,
  When it was finished on the tree.

Satisfaction was given through his blood,
This is the basis of our justification;
  Prisoners went free,
  Forever it shall be sung
      on remembering the day.

Praise forever to the holy Trinity,
Father, and Son and Holy Spirit;
  Let the delivered of God sing
  Hallelujah while ever they be living.
tr. 2025 Richard B Gillion
