Fy Nuw, ni chesiaf gennyt Ti
Weld beth sydd yma'n f'aros i;
Os hawddfyd yn f'angylchu fydd,
Rhof glod i'th enw
glân bob dydd.
Os t'wyllwch fydd, a blinder im',
Ceisiaf ymddiried yn dy rym;
Digon, os bydd i'th gariad cu,
Lewyrchu trwy bob cwmwl du.
Dymunai f'enaid wybod nawr -
A'm cais fydd hyn
tra ar y llawr, -
Mae f'eiddo wyt: hyn caniatâ,
Yna, fy Nuw, pob peth yn dda.
tra :: tr'wy' efel. William Griffiths 1777-1825 Tôn [MH 8888]: Whitburn (Henry Baker 1835-1910) |
My God, I will not seek from Thee
To see what is here awaiting me;
If happiness around me shall be,
I shall give praise to thy
holy name every day.
If darkness shall be, and weariness to me,
I shall seek to trust in thy power;
Sufficient, if thy dear love
Shine through every black cloud.
My soul would wish to know now -
And my request shall be this
while on the earth, -
My possession thou art: this grants,
Then, my God, that everything is good.
while :: while I am tr. 2018 Richard B Gillion |
My Lord, how full of sweet content; I pass my years of banishment! Where'er I dwell, I dwell with Thee, In Heaven, in earth, or on the sea. To me remains nor place nor time; My country is in every clime; I can be calm and free from care On any shore, since God is there. While place we seek, or place we shun The soul finds happiness in none; But with a God to guide our way, 'Tis equal joy, to go or stay. Could I be cast where Thou are not, That were indeed a dreadful lot: But regions none remote I call, Secure of finding God in all.
