Fy enaid mae am ganu mawl,
Am roi im' hawl o'r nefoedd fry;
Trwy chwys a gwaed yr addfwyn Oen,
A'i ddirfawr boen ar Galfari.
Yno y bu afonydd mawr,
O waed i'r llawr yn d'od yn lli';
I'm dwyn i'r nef o'm 'ffernol Nyth,
Mi gofia byth am Galfari.
Mi gofia ei gri ef ar y groes,
Yn eiriol tros ei ddefaid rhi;
Gan bledio â'i Dad
am fadde'u bai;
Byth cofio wnai am Galfari.
Gwirion a llonydd fel yr oen,
Dioddefai boen ein beiau ni,
Yn fodlon yn ei chwys a'i wae;
Byth cofio wnai am Galfari.
'Nol aros oriau ar y pren,
Fe grymmai ben tua 'r ddaear ddu;
Gorphennwyd iechydwriaeth do,
Boed hyn mewn co' am Galfari.
Yno bu farw f'anwyl Ffrynd;
I mi gael mynd i'r nefoedd fry;
Pan bwi ymhlith angylaidd rai,
Byth cofio wnai am Galfari.
Trywanwyd yno waywffon,
Mewn tan ei fron,
er maint ei fri;
Daeth dw'r a gwaed i'r llawr yn llyn,
Byth collaf
ben bryn Calfari.
Pryd hyny clow'd ar uffern drist,
Trwy allu Crist ein Prynwr ni;
Agoriad hon sydd uwch y nen,
Mi gofia' am ben
bryn Calfari.
William Williams 1717-91Aleluia 1749 Tôn [MH 8888]:Ayliff Street (<1811) |
My soul wants to sing praise,
For giving me a right from heaven above;
Through the gentle Lamb's sweat and blood,
And his enormous pain on Calvary.
There were great rivers there,
Of blood coming down as a flood;
To take me to heaven from my infernal nest,
I shall forever remember Calvary.
I shall remember his cry on the cross,
Interceding for his numerous sheep;
Pleading with his Father
for forgiveness of their sin;
I shall forever remember Calvary.
Innocently and calmly like the lamb,
He suffered the pain of our sins,
Willing in his sweat and his woe;
I shall forever remember Calvary.
After staying for hours on the tree,
He bowed his head toward the black earth;
Salvation was finished, yes is was,
Let this be in memory of Calvary.
There died my beloved Friend;
For me to get to go to heaven above;
When I am among the angelic ones,
I shall forever remember Calvary.
He was pierced there by a spear,
In under his breast,
despite how great his status;
Water and blood came down as a lake,
I shall forever remember
the summit of the hill of Calvary.
At that time wss sad hell locked,
By the power of Christ our Redeemer;
That opening is above the sky,
I shall remember the summit
of the hill of Calvary.
