Fy enaid gwel i Galfari,
Y poen angherddol yno fu;
Torfeydd diri',
â'u harfau ynghyd,
Am goncro brenin
mawr y byd.
Holl deyrnas satan
fawr ei grym,
Pob ellyll du a'i arf yn llym;
Llid a chynddaredd, dòn a thòn,
Yn rhuthro arno'r fynyd hon.
Pechodau dynolryw i gyd,
Wedi'u pentyru arno ynghyd,
A'u gwasgant Ef
yn dorf ddiri',
Nes iddo chwysu'r gwaed yn lli'.
Etto, er cyngrair dae'r a nen,
A lladd fy Arglwydd ar y pren,
Felly'r yspeiliwyd uffern fawr,
Ac felly tynwyd nef i lawr.

[Mesur: MH 8888] |
My soul, look to Calvary,
The intense pain that was there;
Numberless throngs,
together with their weapons,
Wanting to conquer the great
king of the world.
All the kingdom of satan
with its great force,
Ever black demon with its sharp weapon;
Wrath and rage, wave upon wave,
Roaring upon him that minute.
All the sins of humankind,
Heaped upon him altogether,
And they press him
as an innumerable throng,
Until he sweats the blood as a flood.
Still, despite the league of earth and sky,
That kills my Lord upon the tree,
Thus great hell was spoiled,
And thus heaven was brought down.
