Fe garodd Iesu'r eiddo
Hyd eitha'r olaf awr,
Rhoes fara'i fywyd erddo
A gwin ei galon fawr;
A minnau gofiaf heddiw
Yr ing a'r chwysu drud
A'r cariad nad yw'n edliw
Ei fai i euog fyd.
Fe welir dwyfol drallod
Uwch byd a'i
gamwedd trist,
A'r gras sy'n drech na phechod
Yn angau Iesu Grist;
Wrth gofio'r loes a'r marw
Na'm caffer i'n ddi-glwy':
Boed pwysau'r croesbren garw
Ar f'ysgwydd innau mwy.
Richard Samuel Rogers 1882-1950
Tonau [7676D]: |
Jesus loved his own
To the utmost at the last hour,
He gave the bread of live for them
And the wine of his great heart;
And I too shall remember today
The anguish and the costly sweating
And the love that does not lay the fault
Of a guilty world to its door.
Divine affliction is seen
Above the world and its
sad transgression,
And the grace that overcomes sin
In the death of Jesus Christ;
On remembering the anguish and the death
May I not be found without a wound:
May the weight of the rough wooden cross
Be upon my own shoulders evermore.
