Duw ydyw noddfa'r saint
a'u grym,
Pan ddêl tymmestloedd adfyd llym;
Cyn gallont draethu
wrtho 'u cwyn,
Bydd Ef ger llaw â'i gymhorth mwyn.
Pe treiglai bryniau'r
byd o'r bron
I lawr i ddyfnder du y don,
Pe siglai seiliau
dyfna'r byd,
Yn Nuw hyderwn yn ddigryd.
Mae afon bur,
a'i ffrydiau byw
Ddiwalla ddeiliaid dinas Duw:
Llawenydd, cariad, bywyd llon,
A lifant drwy anneddau hon.

[Mesur: MH 8888] |
God is the refuge of the saints
and their strength,
When the tempests of sharp adversity comes;
Before they could expound
to him their complaint,
He shall be at hand with his gentle help.
If the hills of the world
were to trundle completely
Down to the black depth of the wave,
If the deepest foundations
of the world were to shake,
In God I would boast unshakably.
There is a pure river,
and its living streams
Satisfy the inhabitants of the city of God;
Joy, love, cheerful life,
Flow through these habitations.
