Daeth sain Noël,
gan angel o'r nef
At y tlodion fugeiliaid
ger Bethlehem dref,
Lle'r oedden hwy
yn gwylio eu praidd
Yn y ddunos aeafol
rhag gormes y blaidd.
Noël, Noël, Noël, Noël,
Fe aned Brenin Isräel.
Wrth dremio'n daer tua'r dwyrain yn hy,
Y seren odidog a welsant fry;
Disgleiriai hi gan lewyrchu'n dlos
Yn danbaid a llachar
drwy'r dydd a nos.
Yng ngolau hon, o'r dwyrain draw
Daeth triawd y Doethion
heb ofid na braw
Gan chwilio'n ddwys am Frenin o fri,
Ac felly dilynent y seren ill tri.
Cyfeirio'i chwrs wnaeth y seren yn glir
Tua'r gogledd-orllewin
uwch Bethlehem dir;
A dyna'r fan lle safodd hi
Yn perlio uwch preseb
yr Iesu ein Rhi.
I mewn yr aeth y Doethion gwiw
Yn wylaidd i foli
sancteiddiaf Mab Duw;
Ac yno'n hael,
yn llety y gyr,
Rhoddasant anrhegion,
yn aur, thys a myrr.
O seiniwn oll, yn beraidd gôr,
Ein moliant soniarus i'r Arglwydd ein Hiôr;
Yr hwn a wnaeth
y cyfan sy'n bod
Ac a brynodd â'i aberth
bawb oll îs y rhod.

Tôn: The First Noel |
A sound of Nowell came,
by an angel from heaven
To the poor shepherds
near Bethlehem town,
Where they were
keeping their flock
In the black wintry night
from the tyranny of the wolf.
Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell,
The King of Israel is born.
On gazing intently towards the east boldly,
The superb star they saw above;
It shone, gleaming prettily,
Fiery and bright
through the day and night.
In this light, from yonder east
Came a trio of Wise Men
without fear or terror
Seeking intently for a King of renown,
And thus those three followed the star.
Direct their course did the star clearly
Towards the north-west
above the land of Bethlehem;
And there is the place where it stood
Glistening above the crib
of Jesus our Lord.
In went the worthy Wise Men
Humbly to praise
the most sacred Son of God;
And there generously,
in the lodging of the herd,
They gave gifts,
of gold, incense and myrrh.
O let us all sound, as a sweet choir,
Our sonorous praise to the Lord our Master;
He who made
everything that is
And who redeemed with his sacrifice
altogether everyone under the sky.

The first Noel
the angel did say
Was to certain poor shepherds
in fields as they lay;
In fields where they lay
tending their sheep,
On a cold winter's night
that was so deep.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel,
Born is the King of Israel.
They lookèd up and saw a star
Shining in the east, beyond them far;
And to the earth it gave great light,
And so it continued
both day and night.
And by the light of that same star
Three wise men came
from country far;
To seek for a king was their intent,
And to follow the star wherever it went.
This star drew nigh to the northwest,
Over Bethlehem
it took its rest;
And there it did both stop and stay,
Right over the place
where Jesus lay.
Then entered in those wise men three,
Full reverently
upon the knee,
And offered there,
in His presence,
Their gold and myrrh
and frankincense.
Then let us all with one accord
Sing praises to our heavenly Lord;
That hath made Heaven
and earth of naught,
And with His blood
mankind hath bought.
