Croesau trymion sydd yn felus

1,2,3,4,5;  1,2,6.
(Prydnawn gofidus, bore gorfoleddus.)
Croesau trymion sydd yn felus,
  Pan yr elo hi'n brydnawn,
Dyfnder galar-sydd yn esgor,
  Ar lawenydd hyfryd iawn;
    O am weled, &c,
  Bore wawr yn dawel glir.

Wrth fy nghuro gan y stormydd,
  Wrth fy maeddu gan y donn;
Wrth fy nryllio yn erbyn creigiau,
  Blinais ar y ddaear hon;
    O am ddyddiau, &c.
  Pan ddarfyddo pechu yn lān.

Fe ddaw'r groes ag sydd yn peri
  I'm henaid heddyw grymmu lawr,
Ar y wawrddydd deg y fory,
  A rhyw faith orfoledd mawr:
    Mi ddisgwyliaf, &c.
  Nes y gwawrio'r ddedwydd awr.

O na chawn ddifyrra nyddiau
  Llwythog, dan dy werthfawr groes;
A phob meddwl wedi ei g'lymmu,
  Wrth dy berson ddydd a nos,
    Tan dy gysgod, &c.
  Mewn tangnefedd pur a hedd.

Dyna'r man dymunwn drigo,
  Wrth afonydd gloywon llawn,
Sydd yn llifo o ddw'r y bywyd,
  O foreu-ddydd hyd brydnawn:
    Lle cawn yfed, &c.
  Hyfryd gariad byth a hedd.

Y mae hiraeth yn fy nghalon,
  Heddyw am gael gwel'd y dydd,
Pan y caffo'm rhwymau eu tori,
  A fy enaid fyn'd yn rhydd;
    Yn lle rhyfel, &c.
  Dim ond swn caniadau hedd.

gwelir:
  Dyma Geidwad i'r colledig
  O gwasgerwch dew gymylau
  O na chawn ddifyru nyddiau
  O sancteiddia f'enaid Arglwydd
  Wrth fy nghuro gan y gwyntoedd
  Y mae rhinwedd gras y nefoedd

(A grievous evening, a jubilant morning.)
Heavy crosses are sweet,
  When it becomes evening,
The depth of lamentation is giving birth,
  To very delightful joy;
    O to see,
  The morning dawn quietly clear.

Through my beating by the storms,
  Through my battering by the wave;
Through my smashing against rocks,
  I am wearied of this earth;
    O for days,
  When sinning will vanish completely.

The cross is coming which will cause
  My soul today to strengthen below,
At the fair daybreak tomorrow,
  And some vast, great jubilation:
    I am waiting,
  Until the happy hour dawns.

Oh that I may enjoy burdened
  Days, under thy valuable cross;
And every thought knotted,
  To thy person day and night,
    Under thy shadow,
  In pure tranquility and peace.

There is the place I desire to dwell,
  By fully radiant rivers,
Which are flowing from the water of life,
  From morning until evening:
    Where I may get to drink,
  Delightful love forever and peace.

There is a longing in my heart,
  Today to get to see the day,
When I may get my bonds broken,
  And my soul go free;
    Instead of battle,
  Only the sound of the songs of peace.
tr. 2015,19 Richard B Gillion
