Chwi wylwyr Sïon oll deffrowch

(Urddiad Gweinidog - Rhan I)
Chwi wylwyr Sïon oll deffrowch,
A chlust yn ostyngedig rhowch;
  Derbyniwch 'nawr o enau Duw,
  Eich siars cyhoeddus - pwysfawr yw.

Nid achos yw o fychan bwys,
Gwaith Bugail ofyn
    ofal dwys;
  Gwaith lanwai
      galon angel cry',
  Llawn waith i
      ddwylaw'n Prynwr fu.

Gwylio 'rych dros eneidiau drud,
Er mwyn pa rai
    daeth Crist i'r byd,
  Eneidiau byth a orfydd fyw
  Dan wenau neu ddigofaint Duw.

(The Ordination of a Minister - Part 1)
Ye watchers of Zion, awake!
And give ye a submissive ear;
  Receive ye now from the mouth of God,
  Your public charge - important it is.

It is not a cause of little weight,
The work of a Shepherd who
    asks for intense care;
  A work that would fill
      a strong angel's heart,
  Which was a full work
      for our Redeemer's hands.

Be careful to watch over precious souls,
Those for whose sake
    Christ came into the world,
  Souls who forever must live
  Under the smiles or wrath of God.
tr. 2017 Richard B Gillion
