Cyfodi wnaf medd Duw o blaid

(Noddfa i'r gwan - Salm 9)
Cyfodi wnaf, medd Duw, o blaid
  Ochenaid y tylodion:
I'r enaid llesg a gwan
    sy'n gaeth,
  Rhof iechydwriaeth dirion.

Byth nid anghofir y tylawd,
  Mae tirion Frawd a'i cyfyd;
Fe dry ei obaith yn fwynhad,
  Yn nghanol gwlad y gwynfyd.

Craig fy nghadernid yw Duw Ion,
  Mewn ing gofidion angau,
I'm hachub daw,
I'm hachub daw, rhag braw mewn brys,
  O'm dyrus orthrymderau.
Thomas Williams (Eos Gwynfa / Eos y Mynydd) c.1769-1848

(A Refuge for the weak - Psalm 9)
Raise I shall, says God, on the side of
  The groan of the poor:
To the feeble and weak soul
    that is captive,
  I shall give tender salvation.

The poor are never to be forgotten,
  A tender Brother shall raise him;
He shall turn his hope into enjoyment,
  In the middle of the land of blessedness.

The Rock of my security is God the Lord,
  In the anguish of the throes of death,
To my soul he shall come,
    against terror hurriedly,
  From my troublesome afflictions.
tr. 2025 Richard B Gillion
