Crist a'n geilw dros ystormydd

Jesus calls us o'er the tumult

(Gwyl Sant Andreas - Tachwedd 30)
Crist a'n geilw! dros ystormydd
  Garw ffordd ein bywyd ni,
Daw ei lais i'n clustiau beunydd:
  "Tyred, Gristion, canlyn fi."

Megis clywodd gynt Andreas,
Ger y llyn, ei dirion lef,
Cartref, gwaith, a phob perthynas
  Er ei fwyn adawodd ef.

Crist a'n geilw o ddoliad
  Golud euraid ofer fyd;
Rhag pob eilun geilw'n Ceidwad:
"Cristion, câr fi'n fwy o hyd."

Yn ein cân a'n galarnadau,
Mewn mwynhad, neu loes a chlwy',
Mewn gofalon, a mwynderau,
  Geilw ni i'w garu'n fwy.

Crist a'n geilw! dirion Geidwad,
  O'th drugaredd pâr i ni
Ufuddhau i'th Ddwyfol alwad,
Ac yn llon dy ddilyn di.

(St Andrew's Day - 30th November)
Christ calls us! over the storms
  Of our life's rough road,
Comes his voice to our ears daily:
  "Come, thou Christian, follow me!"

As Andrew of old heard,
By the lake, his tender voice,
Home, work, and every relative
  For his sake he left.

Christ calls us from the worship
  Of the vain world's golden wealth;
From every idol calls our Saviour:
  "Christian, love me more always."

In our song and our lamentations,
In enjoyment, or anguish and sickness,
In cares, and ease,
He calls us to love him more.

Christ calls us." Tender Saviour,
  Of the mercies make us
Obey thy divine call,
  And cheerfully follow thee.

tr. 2025 Richard B Gillion

(St Andrew's Day - November 30)
Jesus calls us o'er the tumult
  Of our life's wild, restless sea;
Day by day his sweet voice soundeth,
  Saying, "Christian, follow me!"

As of old St Andrew heard it
  By the Galilean lake,
Turned from home and toil and kindred,
Leaving all for his dear sake.

Jesus calls us from the worship
Of the vain world's golden store,
From each idol that would keep us,
  Saying, "Christian, love me more!"

In our joys and in our sorrows,
Days of toil and hours of ease,
Still he calls, in cares and pleasures,
"Christian, love me more than these!"

Jesus calls us! By thy mercies,
Saviour, may we hear thy call,
Give our hearts to thine obedience,
Serve and love thee best of all.
