Crist a gyfododd gwag yw Ei fedd

Crist a gyfododd, gwag yw Ei fedd; -
Feirwon holl oesau'r byd,
    llon fo eich gwedd:
  Gwawr euraidd d'wynna, nos ymaith hed -
  Brysiwch, ddisgyblion llon,
      taenwch y gred!

Mawl fo'n ymdaenu;
    byd llawn o hedd:
Heddyw cyfododd Crist, gwag yw Ei fedd!
  Molwch, belydrau, dawnsiwch i gyd;
  Cenwch, holl wyntoedd Duw,
      fawl dros y byd.

Molwch Ef, flodau,
    gwridog eich gwedd;
Awdwr eich tlysni chwi
    gododd o'i fedd!
  Gauaf ymgiliodd; gwenwch, bob un,
  Cododd fel blod'yn Duw, -
      Crist, bywyd dyn!

Gwelwch lle'r hunodd:
    neb mwy fo'n brudd;
Mwy, yn lle prudd-der nos,
    gwena mwyn ddydd!
  Clywch! lleisiau engyl
      ddisgyn o'r ne';
  Ninnau a ganwn oll - Byw yw Efe!

Tôn [9.10.9.10]: Crist a Gyfododd
    (Alonzo P Howard 1838-1902)

Christ arose, empty is his grave; -
Ye dead of all the ages of the world,
    cheerful be your countenance:
  A golden dawn shines, night flies away -
  Hurry, cheerful disciples,
      spread the belief!

May praise spreading;
    a world full of peace:
Today Christ arose, empty is his grave!
  Praise, ye rays, dance ye all;
  Sing, all ye winds of God,
      praise across the world.

Praise him, ye flowers,
    ruddy your countenance;
The author of your prettiness
    arose from his grave!
  Winter retreated; sing ye, every one,
  He arose like the flower of God, -
      Christ, the life of man!

See where he slept:
    no longer let anyone be sad;
Evermore, in place of the sadness of night,
    shall smile the dear day!
  Hear ye! voices of angels
      descend from heaven;
  Let us too all sing - Living is he!
