Ar lan y môr bu Iesu gynt

Ar lan y môr bu Iesu gynt
  Yn sôn am Deyrnas Nef;
Ac erys y darluniau byth
  O'r Deyrnas dynnodd Ef.

Bu'n sôn am heuwr yr aeth peth
  O'i had ar goll i'r brain;
A pheth ar greigiog dir heb wraidd,
  A pheth ymhlith y drain.

Ond codi wnaeth cynhaeaf da
  O'r maes er waethaf hyn;
A bu'r medelwyr yn crynhoi
  Ysgubau'r gwenith gwyn.

Bu'n sôn am hedyn mwstard oedd
  Yn llai na'r hadau mân,
Yn tyfu'n llwyn, a'i gangau'n lle
  I adar eilio cân.

Am farsiandïwr bu yn sôn
  Yn cyrchu llawer man,
A gwerthu'r cyfan oll a wnaeth
  I gael un perl i'w ran.

Fel hyn yng Ngalilea gynt
  Bu'n dangos Teyrnas Nef;
Ac fe ddaw'r byd i gyd yn well
  O fyw i'w Deyrnas Ef.

Tôn [Corgan]: Edryd
    (Caradog Roberts 1878-1935)

On the sea shore was Jesus of old
  Telling about the kingdom of heaven;
And the images remain forever
  Of the kingdom he brought.

He told about a sower, some of his seed
  Was lost to the crows;
And some on rocky ground without root,
  And some amongst the thorns.

But rise did a good harvest
  From the field despite this;
And the reapers gathered
  Sheaves of the white wheat.

He told about a seed of mustard that was
  Smaller than the small seeds,
Growing into a shrub, and its branches where
  Birds repeated a song.

About a merchant he told
  Setting out for many a place,
And selling absolutely everything he did
  To get one pearl for his part.

Thus in Galilee of old
  He showed the kingdom of heaven;
And all the world will become better
  From living for his kingdom.
