Fy Mreuddwyd

Breuddwydiais - paid â digio dro

(Fy Mreuddwyd)
Breuddwydiais - paid â digio dro -
  Fy mod yn caru dwy;
Ni welwn ragor yn fy myw,
  Na dewis rhyngddynt hwy.

Na charwn un yn llai na'r llall,
  Ni charwn un yn fwy;
Ac mewn rhyw benbleth faith y būm
  Y nos o'u hachos hwy.

Ond wedi deffro gyda'r dydd,
  Mi chweddais, - canys pwy
Debygit oeddynt? - Wel, tydi
  Dy hunan oedd y ddwy!

Syr John Morris Jones 1864-1929

(My Dream)
I dreamt - don't be angry just yet -
  That I was loving two;
I would see no more for all my life,
  Nor choose between them.

I would not love one less than the other,
  I would not love one more;
And in some vast dilemma I was
  At night on account of them.

But having awoken with the day,
  I laughed, - for who
Do you suppose they were? - See, thou
  Thyself were the two!
