Gwen Lliw'r Lili

Dydd da fo i Wen lliwr lili

(Gwen Lliw'r Lili)
Dydd da fo i Wen lliwr lili,
Mith welais heddiwn wisgi,
Yr orau rwyn ei charu
  O ferched yr holl fyd;
Pa le maer addewidion
Ar cariad gynt fu rhyngom?
Mynega im, liwr hinon,
  Fy seren teg ei phryd.

Maer gog yn br leferydd
Ai miwsig yn y maesydd,
A gwenu y maer gweunydd
  Dan dywydd hirddydd haf;
Ar gerdd yng nghaerau gwyrddion
Ar tir gan fwyeilch taerion
Llawenydd, pynciau llawnion,
  Y dn hyfrydlon braf.

(Gwen the Colour of the Lily)
Good day to Gwen Colour-of-the-Lily,
I saw her today so lively,
The one I love best
  Of the girls of the whole world;
Where are the promises
And the former love that was between us?
Tell me, Colour of the sunshine,
  My star, fair of face.

The cuckoo is a sweet caller
With its music in the fields,
And smiling are the moors
  Under a long summer day's weather;
With the verse in the green fields
And the land by persistent blackbirds
Joyful, full of notes,
  The delightful, lovely tune.
