State Championships I only have a state tournament report on Kentucky, so here goes. In a total shock to eveyone, the final matchup was between a deck using the Fire Elves and a deck using Recurring Nightmare. In what proved to be a boring final, the Fire Elves were way to fast for Recurring Nightmare, easily defeating it in three quick game. The 12 year old boy who won the tournament started a national trend of fire elf decks. These decks began a nation-wide trend. People starting building the Fire Elves because they are a cheap deck to make and they are a fun deck to play. Although the fire elves have not won any other state championships, they have been a prominent force in many.
