The Beanie Gazette Tag Tutorial

1st Generation Swing Tag
This tag does not open, it was introduced early in 1994.

2nd Generation Swing Tag
This tag introduces the "open book" feature, however no changes
were made to the front of the tag. It was released in Spring of 1994

3rd Generation Swing Tag
Released in Spring of 1995, this is the first generation to use
the font that is still used today for the "Ty" on the front.

4th Generation Swing Tag
"A Star is Born"!! The "Original Beanie Baby" star takes it's place
on the front of this tag introduced in Spring of 1996. This tag
also was the first to have the Beanies birthdate on the inside, as
well as the ever popular poem. This generation tag can easily be
identified by the "Visit our webpage!!! http://www.ty.com"

5th Generation Swing Tag
This tag was released early in 1998 and contains many changes from
4th Gen. Tags. Most notably is the removal of the Style #, leaving
the Beanie's name alone at the top in the inside of the tag. The date
of birth also changed formats, going from short form (i.e. 2-22-95)
to the long version (i.e. February 22, 1995). The webpage announcement
is simply, "www.ty.com", and also the entire inner portion of the
tag is introduced to a new font style.

Although never reported yet in any publications, the vast changes to
the tush tags beginning with the January, 1999, releases certainly
qualify them as 7th Generation tags. Only time will tell if the powers
that be at Ty, Inc. will agree with this.
