Mail of the week - 5

Quote of the week:
------------------

         Atra kulaththin aruneerp paravaipol
         utruzhith theervar uravallar - akkulaththil
         kottiyum aambalum neithalum polavae
         otti uruvaar uravu.
  						- Auvaiyar

(atra kulaththin - pond without water; paravai - birds ; utruzhith theervar
- those who go away; urvallar - not friends; akkulaththil - in that pond; kotti,
ambal, neithal - kinds of flowers/plants usually grow in ponds; otti uravaar -
live with; uravu - friend)

When a pond is full of water, birds come. Also, the plants/flowers like
Kotti, Ambal, Neithal grow in the pond. But when the same pond dries off, the
birds donot come, though those plants/flowers that grew in it, remain in the
pond. Similarly, friends are those who are in one's hard times & those who fly
away are not friends.

Kural of the week:
------------------

         Ennith thunigha karumam thuninthapin
         ennuva dhenbha dhizhukku.

     (enni - think; thuni(vu) - boldness; karumam - work; izhukku - shame)

Think a lot before you start a work. Once, you started, it is a shame to
think of it (again).

Do you know ?
-------------

All of us have seen Chidhambaram Natarajar in a dancing form. He is also
the Lord of Bharathanatyam.

But, not many of us know the reason behind His form. It is called Cosmic
Dance. Speaking metaphysically, sages and saints of those days, have visualised
the reason for the existence of the world, through meditation. It is nothing
but the rays of light coming from the universe, that makes life possible in
earth. This, they gave a form. That is Lord Nataraja. His dance is nothing
but the annihilation (process of electrons and protons combining) and division
(of electron and proton) taking place at the Ozone layer. This process should
continue, for the world to exist, else the temperature will raise - making life
impossible. That is why, in Hindu mythology, it is said that, if Lord Nataraja
stops to dance, the whole world will cease to exist. He Danced, Dances and will
continue to Dance.

Hinduism has a meaning, behind it. Only, it is not known to the mortals.

Site of the week:
-----------------

One man, simply great - made India win Independance. Not by fight, not by
blood, not violently or not by any other means. But, only - simply by Ahimsa.
Though many have sacrificed their lives, he needs to be accepted as great,
because of his deeds and frankness. Aslo, his greatness was his simplicity.

            Gandhi

If he was really not worth praising or following, why should others praise
him? If we think that he is not great, we may be right. But, when the whole
world praises him, then we are not right, but the world is.

The above site for Gandhi, speaks a quote by him.

" Live simply that others may simply live"

Hope you would know more about him, by visiting the site.
