Quote of the week:
------------------
Enbiruththi narambuthoal pugappeithittu
ennaioar uruvamaakki
inbiruththi munbiruntha vinaitheerthittu
enullam koyilaakki
anbiriththi adiyaenaik koozhaadakkondu
arulseidha aroorartham
munbirukkum vidhiyanri muyalvittu
kaakkaipin ponavarae.
- Appar
[Enbi(u) - bone; narambu - nerve; thoal - skin; ennai - myself;
oar - one; uruvam - form; munbu - earlier; vinai - sin; theerth(u) -
clear; ullan(m) - heart; koayil - temple; aakki - to make; anbu -
kindness {the one great Tamil word, for which any other language fails
to have a similar word (afaik)}; adiyaen - slave; arul - grace; seitha
- made; aaroorar - Lord Aarooran (Siva); munb(u) - in front of; vidhi
- fate; muyal - rabbit; kaakkai - crow; ponavaarae - like]
[God, You gave me a form, with skin and nerves covering this
skeleton; You washed away all my sins from the past and made me pure;
You made my heart a temple and let love/kindness dwell in it; What
other great pleasure do I have in my life, than in being front of You
and working for You ?? (Like a fool to go in search of a crow rather
than a rabbit for prey)]
Kural of the week:
------------------
Nilaththir kidanthamai kaalkaattum kaattum
kulaththir pirandhaarvaay sol.
[Nila(m) - land; kidanthamai - to grow; kaal - plant; kaattum -
shows; kula(m) - family; pirandha - born; vaay - mouth; sol - word]
[As a plant shows the type of soil it grows on, so also one's
language/words, show his family's pride.]
Hinduism and Buddhism:
----------------------
How exactly does Hinduism & Buddhism differ ?
Hinduism explains one to see God in everything while Buddhism
tries to negate everything as an illusion and thereby find the real
Truth.
In other words, Hinduism makes one to go from the centre of a
circle towards its circumference - seeing God in everything; Buddhism
makes one go from circumference to the centre of a circle, shattering
the 'maya'. Though the ways differ, the final aim is to find the Truth.
Circle is same. Paths are different. But, goal is One.

Site of the week:
-----------------
We are the birds of the same nest,
We may wear different skins,
We may speak different languages,
We may believe in different religions,
We may belong to different cultures,
Yet we share the same house - Our Earth.
Born on the same planet
Covered by the same skies
Gazing at the same stars
Breathing the same air
We must learn to happily progress together
Or miserably perish together
For man can live individually
But can survive only collectively.
- Atharvana Veda
The site of this week starts with this quote from Veda and
explains the ancient India's contribution to world, dedicating the
site to Unity and Integrity of humankind. Take a look at our
ancestor's contribution - our proud past. (Future ???)

betterness - ask urself. - Anbu}

The writings and the translations were made with the little knowledge, I had then and hence may not be exact.
