Mail of the week - 16

Quote of the week:
 ------------------

	Mudisaarndha mannarum matrumullorum mudiviloru
	pidusaambarai vendhumannavadhu kandupinnum indhap
	pidisaarndha vaazhvai ninaippadhallal ponninambalavar
	adisaarndhu naamuyya vaendumenru arivaarillaiyae.
        	    				- Pattinathar

	[mudi - crown; mannar - king; matrumullor - others; mudiv(u) - end;
oru - one; pidu(i) - handful; saambar(l) - ash; vendhu - burnt; mann -
soil; kandu pinnum - after seeing; indha - this; vaazhv(u) - life; ninai
- think; allal - not to; ponninambalavar - God (Lord Nataraja - here);
adi - feet; naam - we; uyya - get rid of; arivaar - knower; illaiyae -
not exisiting]

[Even after seeing the great kings and others, turning to soil after
burnt down to handful of ashes, thinking of this worldly life, no one in
this world is getting rid of this worldly life, by surrendering to God's
feet.]

Kural of the week:
------------------

	Sudachudarum ponpol olividum thunbam
	sudachuda norkir pavarkku.

[suda - to heat; chudarum - shining; pon - gold; pol - like; oli -
light; vidum - emitting; thunbam - grief]

[As gold when heated more shines, one who faces much distress, while
trying to achieve his (good & higher) aim, will also shine in his life.]

Do you know ?
-------------

A short comparision of strength between herbivorous(or vegetarian) &
carnivorous (or non-vegetarian) animals.

When a lion (carnivorous animal) chases a deer (herbivorous animal),
the deer continues to run for longtime. But, the lion unable to continue
running, stops its chase, puts out its toungue,inhales.., exhales...,
inhales..., exhales..., ..... Then, restarts its chase. Finally, whether
it gets the deer or not, is not the matter here. While the deer never
stops, why does the lion takes break on its chase ??

The reason is - the lion being carnivorous has less strength (not
power) while the deer being herbivorous, has more strength to run. If
the animal world is noted more detailedly, lots of things can be learnt.

[Obviously, not my knowledge. From my Tamil teacher. ]

Not many of us know that only 2 languages in India (as far as i
know) are able to resonate with the subtle frequency - unknown to the
world. One is Sanskrit and the other is Tamil. Here is a collection of
all the popular Sanskrit slogas and other interesting things.
