The Fish

The fish was the mark of the early Christians.

The first disciples of Jesus Christ did not wear any marks of their faith. If they did so they were

often persecuted or killed.

The early Christians sketched the sign of a fish as a sign to others that they were a Christian.

Today the Fish still stands as a symbol of a Christian.

The Greek initials of:

I = JESUS

X = CHRIST

O = GOD'S

Y = SON

E = SAVIOR

made up the Greek word for Fish.

I used the English letters since I do not have the Greek alphabet, the O and E is diffrent in Greek.
