A Catholic Philosopher

Esteemed Visitor,

Welcome to my home page. It exists for the simple purpose of sharing with you some of my thoughts and writings.

I am a philosopher with a Masters degree from Notre Dame and a Doctor in Philosophie from the Internationale Akademie für Philosophie in Liechtenstein. I am also proud to say that I hold a BS in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame. Although I can no longer prove the Weierstrass Approximation Theorem — or even remember what it says — I have found that my education in mathematics was vital to the development of habits of rigorous thinking and argumentation.

Professionally I am employed as general manager of the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra. It is in honor of this that I have included the name of Ottorino Respighi in my home page title.

The writings you will find here include both philosophical essays and some of my religious and theological pieces. Also included are some opinion pieces I have done for our local paper, the South Bend Tribune.

Please keep in mind that all these writings are copyrighted. You may read them, download them, even pass them around to friends. But please do not sell them or claim them (or parts of them) for your own. Some people do these things, you know.
