The 311 Chat:
*Alt.Zine: As this is your last stop after a pretty long U.S. tour, what's next? Going back to Nebraska?
311: We're taking a long-deserved break and yes, we're going back to Nebraska, some of us, anyway.
*Alt.Zine: Your fans want to know: Does 311 stand for the KKK?
Hex: Hell no!! 311 is the Nebraska Police Dept.'s code for "Indecent Exposure".
*Alt.Zine: What about your support for the legalization of pot?
311: Smoke it! Pass the bong!!
*Alt.Zine: Hey guys, the girls out there want to know how's your love life?
Hex: None! (now he is with Kiplyn)
P-Nut: Very much in love!
*Alt.Zine: Who are some of your musical influenes?
311: Everything from Bad Brains to Bob Marley, to Korn--pretty much a lot!
*Alt.Zine: We understand your musical background is in Jazz?
311: Yea, most of us got together in high school in Nebraska playing jazz.
*Alt.Zine: So, now you're in L.A. with Capricorn?
311: Yea, we moved out here around 1993. We had been producing our own records in Nebraska.
*Alt.Zine: We understand you might be touring with this year's 1997 Lollapalooza?
311: That was the initial plan but we've decided to tour and promote the new album. It's due out in August.
The line-up for Lollapalooza looks like: Tool and Korn, co-heads, Marilyn Manson, Prodigy, and a couple of others. (Check out MusicNewz for more details on Lollapalooza and kewl bands like: Tool, U2, Beck, Iggy Pop, NIN, STP, and more!)
