Church, if Jeremiah, John the Baptist, or the prophet Amos, spoke to you in person today, you would call them "negative." You would admonish them not to judge. You would tell them not to "criticize."
You teach, "Don't be negative. He is a positive God." Yes, He is! He is positive for holiness, justice, and righteousness.
You say, "Jesus is sweet and kind." Yet you deliberately forget that Jesus in His righteous anger made a whip and overthrew the tables in the temple. He called the religious leaders harsh names. If Jesus did this in your church, you would judge Him. You would throw Him out, saying, "You're criticizing the church." Yet when Jesus returns, He will have a rod of iron in His hand with which to rule, and a sharp sword coming out of His mouth. How positive will that be?
"What right have you to recite My laws, or take My covenant on your lips? You hate My instruction and cast My words behind you. You speak continually against your brother ... these things you have done and I kept silent; you thought I was altogether like you. But I will rebuke you and accuse you to your face. Consider this, you who forget God, or I will tear you to pieces with none to rescue."
Psalm 50:16,17,20-22
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever."
Hebrews 13:8
