REMEMBER LAODICEA
To those who will not believe that judgment comes to the church, all I can say is: Remember Laodicea. What is grieving the heart of the Father, is a church which is blind; does not see what is happening around it, and does not see how blind it really is. Naked, because no covering of religiosity can hide motives from the eyes of the Father, motives that are selfish, shallow and self-seeking. To reject powerful words from a powerful God is to remain lukewarm, without passion, and far from the One we claim to follow.
He sent the prophets to rebuke, to point out sin, to a deaf church who desires only sweet praises and total acceptance of everything they do, to please their itching ears. What they desire is whitewash to cover the flimsy wall that they are.
When the enemy moves with power, as he is beginning to do, it is going to be with a religious covering and disguise, and so will all who are religious be deceived, because they rejected and judged the messengers who brought the truth, and they would not be rebuked.
Prophets have nothing to gain in telling the truth to Laodicea, to the church which is fallen; the church has everything to gain. Fill up your lamps, before it is too late. The church which grieves the Father's heart will never think anything is wrong until the door is shut.
"To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, `I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent."
