THE BIBLE IS GREATER THAN JESUS

This false doctrine is based in fear and distrust of God. The church is lacking in trust for Jesus, who is their Savior. Their fear of the enemy and his deceptions is so great, that they will not trust Jesus to speak. They try to force Jesus to quote Scriptures to them or they will not listen. Jesus is the Author of the Scriptures. He often speaks to those who love Him, by His Holy Spirit, with words from the Bible. However, it is up to Him. He can speak through the Scriptures or speak directly, and we must know His voice and obey Him however He speaks to us.

No Scriptures were quoted to Peter when he was sent to extend the gospel to the Gentiles. This was against that which was in the Bible that He had at that time - the Old Testament. Peter went into the house of a Gentile, because the Holy Spirit told him to do so. Jesus came to fulfill the Scriptures, not to take away from them. He should not be forced to be silent, or only be able to speak to us through the Scriptures, because we do not trust Him enough.

The Bible is true, and it is the written Word of God. Jesus is the living Word of God, and as any other living being, He speaks, and thinks. The Bible was written to teach us of God, and to point us to Jesus. Paul said that the law, or the Old Testament, was a "schoolmaster" (a teacher) to bring us to the knowledge of Jesus Himself. The Scriptures are to teach us of Jesus, then we must come and know Jesus for ourselves. It is grievous to the Father that the church turns people to the Bible instead of turning people to Him. They do not trust Him, but they "trust" His written Word. The Holy Spirit will use the Scriptures to show us truths about God and about man and about our own sin, yet we must still hear His voice and know Him. If we do not come to Him, with trust IN HIM (not just in His Bible) then we do not have faith IN HIM, and we are in danger of standing before Jesus and hear Him say, "I never knew you." Then what good will all the verses that we have memorized do for us? Shall we ponder the Bible in hell? Religious adherence to the Scriptures will never save us. We MUST come to Jesus, in repentance for our sin, and with desire to know Him for Himself.

Jesus did not repudiate the Old Testament, He fulfilled it. Paul did not repuditate the Old Testament, although he pointed out that it was written to bring us to Jesus. The Old and the New Testament are the written Word of God. The Holy Spirit will teach us much from the Bible, and we should live by it. However, the Bible does not return on a white horse with its robe dipped in blood, JESUS DOES.

Jesus says, "The church has made the Bible a chain to bind My hands."

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1

This is the one who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ.
He did not come by water only, but by water and blood.
And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.
I John 5:6-8
