How many times have you heard a song and swore that you’ve heard a million others just like it. It happens all the time, in every style of music – a band/artist will do something original and ground breaking, get some exposure and then the next week a hundred new groups will copy them and ride their coat tails to success. The project was born under the premise of creating music that was different and unique. The three members of the group are all established and respected artists in three very different types of music- dance, punk rock and hip-hop. Their different influences and the blending of these genres really separate this band from the rest of the music being released this decade. The songs are very danced themed but they have a dark edge to them. Ethan E. writes and performs all instrumentation for the project. His love of new wave, electro-clash and drum and bass provide the perfect melodies for the vocal talent to run with. The music is composed of a mixture of drum machines, live bass, electric/acoustic guitars, synthesizers, piano, harpsichord, live drums and violin. After 8 months of rehearsing, drinking and daily recording, all of the instrumental tracks have been recorded for the debut album. The vocal duties are split by the two most talented singers in the Inland Empire. Lauren B. is best known for her alluring hooks in the hip-hop group sweet pickle (ridgemont records). She grew up singing along to Madonna, the Beatles and Steely Dan. Her talent and experience are evident in her sense of melody and the subtle sexiness in her voice. Justin K. fronts the punk rock band a kiss could be deadlier (B.S.I. records). His influences include operation ivy, minor threat and bad religion as well as the cure, the smiths and oingo boingo. His diverse taste in music can be seen in Justin’s range and singing style. The project provides infectious vocal hooks over music that makes you want to get up and move.
