BIO


Coming out of Stockton, CA, Doub has been a music enthusiast since a young child. Having performed at various talent shows in junior high, Doub gained the confidence to woo the crowds, while singing LL Cool J and Run DMC songs to a full audience. Growing up, Doub had an older brother and cousins who compiled a group, and used to freestyle all of the time. While observing his family, Doub grasped his opportunity to study the art of freestyling, and would often jump in with a freestyle of his own, surprising them all with his lyrical ability.

In 1992, Doub met TRE DEUCE, a fellow artist, and instantly made a connection. They went to friend’s homes and parties, where they listened to music, wrote lyrics and held freestyle battles. This is when Doub showed TRE DEUCE his seasoned lyrical skills. They realized the chemistry they had between them and decided to start a group, Tha Glok.

Tha Glok held performances at such venues as: San Jose State University, San Jose City College, Palo Alto Recreation Center, and several nightclubs in the downtown San Jose area. Doub has also performed at numerous annual Bay Area festivals, including: Day on the Green and Juneteenth. Juneteenth is an event that is held in Palo Alto, hosted by Chuy Gomez, a DJ at 106.1 K-MEL. Tha Glok has always maintained the two founding members, TRE-DEUCE and Doub. In 1999, they welcomed artist D-Low to the group, resulting in three members today. Tha Glok owns and operates the independent record label, On Point Records. Attaining their own music equipment has allowed them the freedom and independence they needed to get the ball rolling.

Doub has demonstrated a talent for writing, producing, and performing. He has appeared on several albums and compilations with upcoming and established artists. He also enjoys contributing to a versatile mix of music, including rock, pop, alternative, and R&B. Doub has the skills and determination to be heard in the music industry.

Doub is a very spiritual man, and very family oriented. He believes in Jesus and the power He has, as well as the blessings He has given him. When not working on his music, Doub spends most of his time with his loving family, or assisting with troubled youth within his church family. Doub is a man of whole spirit and truth.

Branching out with his first CD, 209, Doub offers laid back, smooth lyrics and a unique sound to the art of Hip-Hop and R&B. Doub’s unique style of music will win over young and older generations alike.
