Pushing the door to his Canadian cabin open, Logan stepped aside and let his four teammates enter.
"Wow, Wolvster this is a great place".
"Thanks Jubes, glad you like it. Why don't you four make yourselves comfortable while I get the bags out the car".
"Do you think we should have waited for the boys. Ah mean do you think they'll have to wait long to get the car fixed. And do they even know how to get here from the garage?"
Turning away from the window she had been looking out of, Ororo answered Rogue's question. "The mechanic said the car would be ready in about two hours".
Coming over to join her fellow X-women, Jean added, "besides Scott and Hank complained the whole way up about how hungry they were. Scott said he and the others would grab a bite to eat at the diner across from the mechanics".
"Yeah, but they've never been here before how are they suppose to find their way. I mean it ain't exactly like the cabin's on the beaten path".
Walking in the open door with two small duffel bags in hand, Logan answered her. "I left them with directions a blind man could follow. I think between Scott, Remy and Hank they'll be able to manage". Turning to Ororo, he indicated the two bags in his hands. "I know we packed more than this".
"We did." Jean and I moved the large bags from the back seat of your jeep to make room for Rogue and Jean at the garage. We put them in Scott's S.U.V.".
"That explains that".
Logan watched Ororo separate herself from the other three women who were busy stocking his bare shelves with the groceries they purchased on the way. Walking over to his lover of the past four months, he wrapped his arms around Ororo's waist. He tilted his head up to whisper into her ear. "Happy darlin'"?
Leaning back into his embrace, Ororo wrapped her arms over his and smiled. "Of course, Logan". The two stood in the embrace for moment more before Ororo questioned, "why wouldn't I be"?
Letting out a sigh, his soft breath tickled her ear bringing a small smile to her face. "Oh, maybe because this long weekend was just suppose to be about you and me. You know some time away from the mansion so we could concentrate on us. Instead, we brought the whole mansion with us".
Turning around in his embrace to face him, Ororo tilted her head down, resting her forehead against his. "Not, the whole mansion. Charles had to go to Washington".
"With our luck he'll show up tomorrow morning just in time for pancakes".
The small laugh they shared ended when Ororo placed a soft kiss on his lips. "Seriously Logan, I am happy. I am surrounded by the people I love the most, you, my friends and family". Breaking into a seductive smile, she added, "besides, if you're a good boy we can still have all the "us" time you can handle in our bedroom".
Letting out a small growl, Logan opened his mouth to speak but didn't get the chance. "Wolvie, when do we get to do some out doorsy stuff. You know like fishing or chopping wood?"
Gritting his teeth at Jubilee's timing, he relaxed when Ororo gave him a tender smile and a promise of `later for you in her eyes' before she walked away. "Well, the fishing gear's with Scott but there's a woodpile out back".
"Stand back and let me at it".
Ten minutes later, the door slammed opened and the pungent unmistakable odor of skunk wafted through the cabin. In walked a furious Logan and an apologetic Jubilee, "I'm so sorry. I thought I could scare it off".
Jean, Rogue and Ororo looked bewildered at the scene before them for a moment before Jean asked what was on everybody's mind. "What happened and why do you smell like a skunk Logan".
Turning a furious gaze on Jean, Logan vehemently hissed his answer through a clinched jaw. "Why don't you ask little miss nature girl here". Stomping up the steps to the bathroom, he mumbled, "I gotta grab a shower this stink is killing me".
The three women turned to Jubilee who only looked back with wide innocent eyes. "What? The skunk was hiding behind the woodpile. I thought I could scare him off with some fireworks. How was I suppose to know he would decide to spray Logan instead of running away".
The other women looked at her dumbfounded for a second before breaking into hysterical laughter. "Ha, ha! I'm glad you all find it so funny but I've never seen him that mad at me."
"Well what do you expect sugar. The man smells horrible. And you got to know as bad as we think it smells its got to be ten times worst for him. If I were you I would try to stay away from him until he cools off".
After scrubbing himself nearly raw for over thirty minutes, Logan turned the water off and stepped out the shower. The smelly clothes he had on earlier were crumpled up and tied tightly in a double plastic bag in the corner of the bathroom. Despite that, his super senses still allowed him to smell the horrible odor. This caused his temper to flare again and prompted mumbling. "Who the hell doesn't know that you don't scare a skunk", Logan asked himself as he dried himself off. Throwing the only towel he had in the cabin into the bag with his clothes, he absentmindedly noted that it was a good idea Storm packed some. Despite the size of the cabin, three bedrooms and two bathrooms, Logan had always come here alone. He wasn't running a bed and breakfast so the one towel, wash cloth and hand towel had been enough over the years. He walked into the bedroom and reached for the first duffel bag. Opening it he saw a bunch of scented candles, oils, and Ororo and his toiletries. Pulling the second bag over he opened that and stared. The bag contained some of Ororo's sexiest negligees, all of his favorites he noted. And although he was definitely sure he would enjoy them later, Logan found himself at a lost. "Where the hell are my clothes"? Ororo's words earlier came back to him; "we put the larger bags in the S.U.V". "Damn"! `Well I'm just going to have to sit here until the guys show up with the bags'. Logan was just about to call down stairs to ask Ororo to bring up the six pack of beer in the fridge and join him in wasting some time when he heard her melodic voice float up to him.
"Logan".
"Yeah darlin'"
"Can you come light the pilot to the heater the others say its cold?"
"Why don't you tell Jubilee to go get some fire wood for the fire?"
Logan asked sarcastically.
"You know she didn't mean for that to happen. And you know no one can go back out to the wood pile until the smell dies down".
Taking a deep breath, he answered, "I know but….Ro, why don't you come on up. I'm tired of shouting back in forth".
A moment later, Ororo walked through the door of the bedroom. A small smile crossed her face as she took in his bare form. Logan smiled back, always happy to please her. Walking up to him Ororo slipped her arms around his neck.
"Why don't you throw some clothes on and go light the heater so you can hurry back here and…" She stopped when she saw his smile disappear. "What's the matter".
"My clothes are all in Scott's S.U.V. I don't even have any towels to wrap around me. I was going to hang out up here until the guys get here."
"Oh. Okay. I am sure between the four of us we will manage to get the heater started. I will bring you a beer when I get a chance' "You read my mind. Oh yeah the heater's sorta of temperamental so be careful".
Twenty minutes later, Logan was upstairs lounging on his bed holding one of Storm's silky negligees to his nose breathing in her scent. He was imaging her in it and the joy he was sure to have when he took her out of it when the scent of propane hit his nose. Trying to ignore it he laid back on the bed smiling to himself as his eyes caught the bag holding the scented candles and sensual body oils. Ororo sure believed in setting a romantic mood. She told him once that she loved to involve all his senses in their lovemaking because she knew it enhanced his pleasure. His thoughts were once again interrupted when his super hearing picked up Rogue's voice.
"I can't believe you dropped the matches in the water".
"I told you I'm sorry. The box slipped out of my hand. It wouldn't have fallen in the water if Wolvie didn't have them in the cabinet over the sink. Anyway if worse comes to worse I'll just "pampf" and light the pilot."
The idea of Jubilee shooting of her fireworks around an open pilot had Logan off the bed in no time standing in front of the closet going over his choices, Storm's blue robe or her pink robe. His first thought was to rule the pink robe out right a way. Sure, it was acceptable for men to wear pink now a days. Many men wore pink shirts all the time with out having their masculinity questioned. But a pink terry cloth robe that came with matching slippers was a different story. On the other hand, the blue silk robe wasn't exactly a unisex style. On the contrary with the feather trimming around the collar and the sleeves, coupled with the intricately embroidered flowers that decorated the material it was looking more and more to Logan that he would be going with the pink one. Of course, Logan thought to himself, he had another option. He could always go back to his day dreaming and hope that the women downstairs had enough sense to prevent Jubilee from helping. Indeed, that was the choice he was about to choose when to his horror he heard his sensible Ororo's suggestion.
"Jean and I couldn't find any more matches. We can't continue to sit here like this letting the cabin fill up with gas. Jubilation do you think you can use your powers to light this?"
Before Jubilee could even answer Logan was securing the belt to the robe around his waist. The robe that was cut to come to mid thigh on the taller Ororo came to Logan's knees. His muscular arms and broad shoulders made for a tight fit causing the sleeves to ride up on his arms. The front of the robe hung open in a deep v down to the belt just above his waistline revealing his muscular chest and the patch of black hair that covered it. Leaving the matching slippers behind, Logan headed for the door and down the stairs.
Rogue was facing the other three women who had their backs to the steps. As a result, she saw Logan first. Her eyes went wide and her mouth dropped open. "Oh my….sweet Jesus Logan, what are you…I mean why are you". She was at a loss for words and as the others turned to look at what caused her reaction they understood why.
"Logan"?
"Yeah, Jeanie".
"Isn't that Ororo's robe".
"Yeah".
"Oh".
Jubilee had a big grin on her face. She knew she shouldn't especially after earlier but she couldn't help it. "Pink definitely is your color you should wear it more often".
Logan stepped dangerously towards her growling the whole time. "Not another word out of you, you got it kid! Thanks to you I don't have any clothes to wear. It was either this or come down in my birthday suit".
Putting a restraining hand on Logan's arm Ororo turned him to face her. Struggling to keep from smiling she placed a hand on his cheek trying to sooth his ire. "I thought you said you were going to stay upstairs until the others came".
"Yeah, that was the plan but then I smelled the gas and heard you all talking. Decided to come down before the cabin was blown up. Tell me something Ro, you weren't really going to let miss disaster over there try to light the pilot were you?" He quirked his head over in Jubilee's direction for emphasis.
"…"
"That's what I thought. Do me a favor Jeanie open that door. Ro do you think you could whip up a breeze and clear out the gas?"
The two ladies did as asked and Logan got down on all fours crouching low so he could reach the pilot. As he did so the robe rode up and all four ladies inclined their heads without thinking to get a better view. When Storm saw the others looking at her man's "assets", her smiled disappeared. She cleared her throat rather loudly causing the three heads to snap back up.
Despite the fact that he had his head under a heater he felt their eyes on him. He couldn't help but smile to himself when Storm cleared her throat clearly perturbed by the way her man was getting the once over. Not wanting to be under there all night he popped a claw on each hand and scrapped them together over the pilot lighting it with the spark the action created. Before he stood up, he used the pilot to light the cigar he found while rummaging around upstairs. Taking a long drag he stood up and turned around just in time to see the guys walk through the door.
