Binna laughed to herself silently before leaving Ororo to isolation once again. The moment she detached herself from Ororo's shell her body trembled. She combed her fingers through her hair and mentally gave herself a shove, time was running out, as was her strength.
Sticking close to the walls she slunk down the hall as quietly as possible, she turned a corner and ran right into...
"Scott, sweety I was just looking for you."
"Really. I thought I had told you I was going to be in my classroom," he looked at her strangely.
'Right. Pull it together!' "Oh right. I'm sorry I completely forgot! I guess what with Ororo and everything I've just been kind of run down."
"That's understandable Jean, why don't we get a drink?"
"Sounds lovely."
On their way out of the mansion they passed a sullen Logan who spared neither one of them even the barest of glances. 'Jean' followed him with her eyes as long as possible until Scott nudged her.
"He seems to be taking it very hard."
"Yeah it would appear that way."
Xavier sat in his study trying to come up with an answer to Ororo's predicament, but was not successful so far.
He heard the click of high heels and looked up to greet Marie. "Ah Rogue, what a pleasant surprise. Please, have a seat."
It was amazing to him that even through everything she had seen and done Rogue still could maintain an air of innocence and purity. Her concentration stayed on her velvet green gloves that matched her dress and it was not until mentally saying 'Hello' that she paid the professor any attention at all.
"I've been feeling weird lately. Storm has disappeared, Logan walks around like a zombie, and I get the feeling that something bad is here or is coming."
Logan once again took up his vigil by Ororo's side. He only returned to his room when forced and without if he got even two hours sleep a night he thanked the Gods. Something was wrong, something was very wrong he just couldn't figure out what. It seemed as if he was wrapped up in some kind of sick nightmare. Every time he woke up he would just lay in bed an extra minute, his eyes still closed, and hope that all of this had just been his body's reaction to a midnight snack with Bobbie, it never was.
How could this happen? How could this happen to her? How could this happen here?
This school was the only sanctuary that mutants had, a place where they could come to feel safe and accepted, if even here they could be harmed where else was left?
The body before him gave a twitch and a moan, "That's right baby fight it!" he breathed into her ear. He picked up a wash rag and gently ran it over her sweaty face trying to give her as much relief as he possibly could.
Jaded Cherub
"I'm trying to fight it Logan, I swear."
