Kyp didn't see Siee most of the day. He had to take
some remedial school-type courses - by request of Han - since he'd never
really had any schooling. So, after he'd finished, he headed back to his
room to work through his
homework, and wait for Siee to come back from her Jedi teachings so they
could practice Force-work together.
He lay on the floor of his room, datapad before him,
his door open... frowning at the figures before him from his maths course.
An angry feeling flowed down the hallway before Siee as she
stormed to her room. On her face was a black eye and her robes were torn.
Kyp looked up at the unfamiliar feeling, then jumped
up. "Siee?"
"Don't," she muttered and went into her room.
He followed her, "What happened?"
he asked evenly.
"Don't ask." she stated, stripping off her robe and folding
it. She was in her jogging pants and white top.
"I'm asking. And I'll keep asking until you tell me,"
he moved forward into the room.
"Don't waste your breath," she muttered and went to find her
rubber soled shoes. She needed to take a run.
He went and set a hand on her shoulder. "Tell me."
"Stupid sk... annoying Jedi know-it-alls who go here." She
muttered, then took off running out of her room and down the hallway.
He took off running after her, having already changed
from his robes into more comfortable clothing after classes. He ran along
with her for plenty of reasons... he wasn't sure which was the foremost,
though.
She ignored him and just concentrated on her running. She
focused, letting her anger bleed out of her feet and into the ground as
she ran.
He said nothing as he ran along with her, keeping his
senses aleart should they be attacked.
She saw the lake and took off faster. Focusing her powers,
she sprang from the edge of the lake and used the Force to propell her
to the other side.
He did the same, splashing down a few feet behind her,
still running. He couldn't help but smile slightly, she was getting much
stronger under their training regime.
She looked over her shoulder and smiled a bit. She then
jumped up, grabbed onto a tree branch and swung around it, then released
it to swing up to a higher one, and kept going upwards.
He just shook his head slightly and followed her...
soon they broke through the canopy, so dense they could run atop it with
ease, with only the bright sky above them.
Siee stopped and lifted her face to the sun. She closed
her eyes, letting the warmth bathe over her.
When she stopped, he did as well, staying a few metres
behind her, before slowly approaching and wrapping his arms around her,
leaning to rest his chin on her shoulder from behind.
She smiled softly at his caress. "Hello," she whispered.
"Hello," he spoke softly into her hair. "Ready to
talk?"
"Maybe," she stated.
"What happened, Siee?"
"Let's just say that I'm not the biggest fan of the Academy
kids right now."
"I never said you had to be," he took his arms from
around her and turned her to face him, lifting a hand to brush her bruised
cheek. "I can't say I am either - but why?"
"There are some I like, some that are ok, and some I just
want to pitch into cold vacuum."
"Again I ask, why?"
"Baka Katan..." she growled under her breath.
He stepped back and sighed, "I think I see.... What
did he say to you?"
"Said that I was a Sith-Whore for hanging out with you."
"He said that?" Kyp's voice had instantly gone from
comforting to menacing. He turned his back to her and began stalking away.
"Kyp..." she gently grabbed his shoulder.
He stopped, stiffined. "What?"
"Trust me... you think I look bad. You should see the other
guy." She smiled, a tiny cut on her lip showing.
He turned to her, "I'm sure he looks better than he
would if I got my hands on him," he frowned.
"You can get revenge when he gets out of batca tomorrow night."
"Rest assured I will," Kyp blew out a long sigh, then
lifted a hand to cup her cheek, his thum caressing her lip. "You should
get that taken care of too."
"Ah, it's a split lip. It'll heal on it's own. Builds character."
He chuckled and shook his head, "You're too strong-willed
for your own good sometimes, you know that?"
"It's called being a Janson." She grinned, then winced as
the lip split a bit further, a drop of blood oozing out.
"I guess it is." He held a hand to her and pulled
her down to sit on the canopy. Then he lay down to look at the sky, the
sun beginning to set, the great gas giant not far behind.
She sighed and leaned against him. "I miss Taanab," she
stated offhandedly.
"Tell me about it?"
"Not much to tell. Farmland all over with a tiny village
in the center. My farm was on the edge of the forest. Used to hunt Dander
all the time."
"What's a Dander?"
"Big monster. Almost as big as a Wookiee with a cat like
body and hooves for hands and feet. Runs on all fours. nasty temper."
"Oh yeah... and a whip for a tail. Wes and I have a few lashes
on our backs to prove it."
"Woah.... up until you mentioned that thing, it sounded
like the perfect place."
"You can hide in the cornfields. It's allergic to the stalks.
It hides deep in the forest come harvest. Best time to hunt them and
get meat."
"Sounds like a nice place to grow up. I don't think
I've ever seen anything quite like that."
"Could take you there sometime. Now that the Empire doesn't
rule us, it's safe to travel there.
"I'd like that," he turned to look at her, propping
himself up on an elbow. "I would."
Siee chuckled. "Then you could take me to Kessel. We can
go get some spice and sell it, then run away to some world and live nicely
the rest of our lives."
"Never going back to Kessel," he said seriously. "But
I would like to go see Deyer again. I can barely remember it, but the
memories are my few good ones."
"Then we will go there."
He half smiled, "Deal."
"Now we just have to sneak away and hope Luke doesn't impound
the X-Wings when we get back." She grinned mischiviously.
He chuckled, "I imagine he'd be glad for us to make
ourselves scarce for a few days..... give the other students time to calm
down."
Siee smiled, then grew thoughtful. "Kyp... "
"Hm?"
She rolled over and stared at his face. "Do you wish sometimes
that this could last forever?"
"What do you mean?"
"This... us... do you want it to last forever?"
He looked down at the treetops, picking up a leaf and
twisting its delicate form in his fingers. "Yeah..." he said so quietly
she would have had to strain to hear him where she even an inch further
away.
"What?' she asked, leaning forward to hear him better.
"Yes," he said slightly louder, still quiet, but she
could hear him. He looked up his eyes catching hers. "Yes, I do."
She walked her fingers up his chest. "Would you want to?
You know... make us last forever?"
He captured her hand in his, then kissed her fingertips
before looking her in the eye again. "More than anything, Siee. More
than anything."
Siee blinked then smiled softly. "Then let's do it, Kyp.
Let us become one." She leaned over and kissed him gently.
He kissed her gently, brushing her hair back gently
with his fingers. He pulled away and pressed his forehead to hers. "Marry
me, Siee?" he smiled.
"No," she whispered.
"Tough," he kissed her again. "I always get what I
want." he said softly. "And... I want you, Siee. For always."
She laughed and let him kiss her, leaning back onto the canopy.
"Do you now?"
"Yes," he propped himself on an elbow above her. "I
do," he smiled.
"Then I'll think about it."
"Do you really need to?" he asked.
"I dunno. What am I getting from all this?"
"Someone who realised as he fell asleep, with you in
his arms, last night... that he can't live without you?"
She thought for a moment. "Anything else?" she asked palyfully.
"Free kisses?" he winked.
She took one. "Getting warmer."
"How about this?" He opened hiimself to her through
the Force, allowing her to feel the strength of the feelings he had no
name for, that were all tied into her.
She closed her eyes, the feelings warming her in ways the
sun could never do. A soft smile came to her face as she almost seemed
to glow in the warmth.
Then he leaned down and gently kissed her
She wrapped her arms around him, opening herself up to him
as well, bathing him in all the feelings she had inside of her.
He lay down with her in the treetops, wrapping his
arms around her, his his hand tangled in her soft hair. After a few minutes
he pulled away and looked deep into her eyes.
"Siee, would you be willing to be my wife? Share my
life? Be everything to me?" His eyes shone with complete honesty, "I
need you, Siee. I can't
live without you. I've realised that now, and I can never go back."
She stared into his eyes and swallowed the lump that came
to her throat. "Yes... yes I will marry you Kyp," she whispered.
He grinned, the light of expired suns bursting forth
brightness in his eyes. He kissed her then, so gently, so thoroughly, as
he held her tightly against him.
She kissed him back, her hands rubbing up his back and into
his hair.
After some time, they lay back cuddled against each
other beneath the rising stars. He sighed into her hair as he held her
close to him.
"So... how are we going to escape from here?"
"We have X-wings, don't we? And like I said earlier,
I'm sure Skywalker won't mind us out of everyone's hair for a short bit."
He thought a moment, "Especially if I tell him first."
"You won't tell him WHY, right?"
"Hey, I'm not an idiot," he shook his head. "I'm probably
the smartest man alive," he grinned.
"Smartest man alive, huh?" Siee grinned. "What's the square
root of 69?"
He blinked, "What's that have to do with anything?"
"What's the answer smartest man alive?"
He scratched his head, "You're making that up. Everyone
knows roots arent' square, and they don't have anythign to do with numbers.
Unless you're counting how many a tree has." He made a face.
Siee laughed out loud. "You're so clueless."
He blinked, "Huh?" He raised himself up on an elbow to
look down at her, "Explain."
"A square root is a smaller number that was multiplied by
itself to get a larger number. Like when you multiply 2 by 2, you get
4. So 2 is the square root of four. Get it?"
"You're making that up," he insisted.
"No i'm not! It's on page 276 of the math textbook you're
reading."
He flopped back down onto the canopy. "Weren't we
talking about how to get off planet?"
"Yeah, but you said you were the smartest man alive..."
"I still hold that I am," he turned his head to look
at her. "Data-smarts isn't everything, you know."
"Kypster the dummy he's really funny, doesn't know what a
square root is, think's he's a galaxy whiz, wants to become man and wife,
should I give him the best years of my life?" she gave him a teasing grin...
He looked at her with a frown, "Hey I can't help I
didn't get any schooling until less'n two years ago," he got up and sat
with a hurt back turned to her.
She smiled softly and kneeled behind his back, letting her
arms drape over his shoulders and she breathed in his ear, "but he's still
Kypster.. .Kypster the mighty."
He whipped around and pulled her into his lap to kiss
her.
She laughed as he kissed her, letting her hand run along
his cheek and tuck his hair behind his ear.
He pulled back, kissed her nose, and smiled. "So,
we should probably get out of here befire either Katan or his buddies decide
to get back?"
He let a hand gently brush the bruise developing on
her face, his thumb gently brushing her split lip.
"Yeah.. but where are we going to GO?"
He frowned, "I didn't think that far."
"Kypster the dummy.." she started, teasingly.
He put a hand to cover her mouth, "No. Kypster the
impulsive. It's nicer that way," he smiled. He liked smiling now. She
made it easy.
She licked his hand to get it off her mouth.
He wiped his hand on her face. "Ick!"
"Gotcha."
"Yes. You do," he smiled and stood putting her
on her feet. "How about this... I go talk Skywalker into letting us disappar
for a while, 'for the good of the praxeum', and you go get your things together and figure
out where we're going?" He smiled, "I'll be able to throw together a bag
within two minutes when I'm done, and then we can go."
He paused, "That is... if you still want to."
She nodded. "If we keep talking, I might change my mind."
She winked.
A flicker of fear passed through his eyes, before giving
way to the realisation she was teasing him. He hoped. He nodded and grabbed
her wrist gently, leading her to the place they first broke the foliage
so that they may go back.
Siee grinned. "Always taking the first step, huh Kyp? Just
be careful you know where we're going to fall."
"What's that supposed to mean?" he asked as he kicked
aside, and held with his foot, a branch to open the canopy.
"Nothing." she grinned
He shrugged and helped her down, and they ran back
to the temple, not exchanging many words, parting at the temple doors and
going their seperate ways.
Siee ran to her room and looked around. "Ok, only pack what
you really need." She grabbed her holdout and put it under her robe at
her side. She was packed.
Half an hour later, Kyp finally got there and knocked
on her door before going to his open room to put together a small pack.
"What took you so long?" Siee asked from her doorway.
He shoved the last thing into the small bag, "Hey,
it's not that easy to convince Skywalker you've got a good idea... even
for me."
"So I take it we have ten minutes before someone finds the
body?"
He rolled his eyes, "You figure out where we're going
yet?"
"Depends... how far do we need to get away from the temple
so Luke won't know where we are and what we're doing?"
Kyp just shrugged. "It's not like he could pinpoint
things without looking to do so...."
"Then I suggest we go to the other side of the galaxy."
He thought a moment, "Well, we could go to Bespin,
that's practically the other side."
"Um.... if we do that, Lando will marry us. How fast are
we wanting my brother to find out about this again?!"
"Oh..... I didn't think about that," he made a face.
"Well, you come with something better!"
"We could ask Booster... he won't tell anyone without them
paying a lot, then he'd just hint about things."
He nodded, "Sounds like a plan. You have everything
you need?"
She patted her hip. "I'm packed."
He raised an eyebrow, "And you're going to fly your
x-wing in your robe?"
"I have my flightsuit on underneath."
"And clean clothes?"
"I'm sure wherever we end up will have soap."
He rolled his eyes and pushed past her to her room,
and started looking through her drawers. He threw underclothes and a few
clean flightsuits onto her bed.
"What are you doing?"
"Packing."
"Get out of my drawers!" she used the Force to slam her underwear
draw shut while Kyp was sorting through it.
He pulled his hands back quickly, just missing their
crunching. "SIEE!"
"That's my underwear drawer!"
"So? Don't you need to wear it?"
"I don't need you playing in my bras!"
He frowned, "Later?" then he winked.
She walked over and slapped him upside the head.
He rubbed at the spot, "Okay, sorry." He smiled and
went over to the bed to shove what he'd pulled out into his pack.
"Are you done packing for me yet?"
He turned around, "Yes."
"Then let's go." She tried to pick up the bag and huffed.
"Man, you're just as bad as Wes!"
He picked it up, "You're exaggerating," he swung the
small bag over his shoulder, "Okay, maybe not.... girls clothes are heavy!"
he danced out of the way before she could hit him again.
"So where's your bag, Kypster?"
He held up the bag, "Same one."
"What, a thong and a hat?" she asked.
He blinked. "What? No, flightsuit, undergarments...
Don't need that much."
Siee chuckled. "Not like we're going to be wearing much,"
she joked.
He turned immediately, purple. "Uh... yeah....right..."
She got up on her toes and kissed his nose.
He looked up and smiled nervously. "Well, uhm... I
guess we ougtta get going."
"I guess." She bit her lip. Come on Siee, don't get nervous
now, she told herself.
He put an arm around her shoulders, and they headed
out through the temple.
