Wes - Alison | Hobbie - Shel | Fenig - Leah

Shelonei: A bit sad, a bit befuddled... Hobbie headed down to Wes' apartment and rang the doorbuzz.
AlisonSky21: Wes was busy pounding down flames from his stove when the buzzer went off. "WHAT?!" he shouted.
Shelonei: "It's Hobbie!"
AlisonSky21: "FIRE!" Wes shouted still trying to slap the flames away.
Shelonei: Hobbie tapped in an override, and dashed in, grabbing the fire-extinguisher on his way in.
Shelonei: He got to the kitchen, and couldn't see for the smoke - so he just started spraying, hoping to get it all.
AlisonSky21: Wes coughed and wiped the white foam from his face. "Thanks Hobbie."
Shelonei: Hobbie set the extinguisher down. "Sorry... couldn't see," he coughed. "What were you trying to do?"
AlisonSky21: "Cook dinner."
Shelonei: Hobbie sighed, "Shoulda called out."
AlisonSky21: "Yuo're telling me."
Shelonei: "I can tell you a lot of things...."
AlisonSky21: "But do I want to hear them?"
Shelonei: "Probably not."
AlisonSky21: Wes wiped away more foam from his body. "So what are you doing this way?"
Shelonei: "Just checking up on you. There were just some more bodies found and the path's getting closer to base."
AlisonSky21: "I'm not afraid."
Shelonei: "I know you're not. I just want you to be careful."
AlisonSky21: "I always am."
Shelonei: He nodded, "good." Hobbie sighed and shook his head.
AlisonSky21: "Want to take some dinner home with ya?" Wes asked, grabbing a dirty shirt and wiping his face with it.
Shelonei: Hobbie snorted, "No thanks. I want charcoal, I'll get Kaoru to cook for me."
AlisonSky21: "suit yourself. I'm going to get a shower before I get toxic posioning or something."
Shelonei: Hobbie sighed, "Yeah, you do that..." He shook his headand started to leave, then turned. "Oh, and Wes?"
AlisonSky21: "Yeah?" he blinked, wiping the foam that was dripping down his face from his hair.
Shelonei: "Just wanted to tell you. Miss Durak is a special woman, don't mess it up for yourself. Just because something unexpected happened, doesn't mean it's her fault. Give her a chance, she really cares for you, a lot.
AlisonSky21: "When have you been the one to give relationship advice, Hobbie?" Wes asked.
Shelonei: Hobbie stopped when We interrupted. "I never have been. I just know she's a one of a kind find, and you're lucky to have her affections." He turned and headed for the door.
Shelonei: and I'm jealous....
AlisonSky21: "I never asked for them, Hobbie. You remember that." With that, Wes turned to go into his fresher.
Shelonei: Hobbie turned around, "You're an idiot, Wes. You know that?"
AlisonSky21: Wes turned back. "Did you just call me an idiot?"
Shelonei: "Yes I did. Because you ARE!"
Shelonei: Hobbie frowned, "Either that, or you're more dense than I thought."
AlisonSky21: Wes growled. "You have five seconds to get out of here Hobbie. I don't need a lecture from you today."
Shelonei: Hobbie canted his head, "I wasn't lecturing you. I was telling the truth. Miss Durak is probably the best find around here, and you're ignoring her like she doens't exhist. You're irresponsible, and blind.
Shelonei: I just don't know who's more of an idiot in this room. You for pushing her away, or me for helping you even notice her in the first place."
AlisonSky21: "And if you notice, i never asked for that either." Wes growled. "You took advantage of both of us, you know that?"
Shelonei: "How the sith did I do that?!"
AlisonSky21: "You knew she wanted to be with me... and for some reason you deside to set her up with me cause you think we're so perfect together. You ever wonder why I rebuffed her appraoches from the start, huh?
AlisonSky21: I like Feni, ok? But I knew I would hurt her in the first place. she's too nice a girl to be with me. And you wouldn't stop. None of you would stop pushing her on me. You all just kept pushing, and now look what happened!
Shelonei: Hobbie broke in, spreading his arms to either side. "I didn't push anyone on
Shelonei: anyone. She asked my help in getting you to notice her. That's All I did. I wasn't hte one who took her out, seduced her when she already was smitten,
Shelonei: and then GOT HER PREGNANT ON THE FIRST DATE!"
AlisonSky21: "It the end it's your fault because you helped her when you've seen that I didn't want to be with her!" Wes shouted back. "I'm going to help her through whatever she desides to do with the baby,
AlisonSky21: but I'm not going to be forced into any marriage by you, Kirney or anyone. Now get out of MY apartment before I have you escorted."
Shelonei: "I never said ANYtHING about marriage, Wes. I just think you should open your eyes and see what you've got before you throw it all away.
Shelonei: Sith, if I wasn't such bad luck to women, *I* would marry her!" Woah, did he just say what he just said? Whoops.... slip of the tongue there, neh?
Shelonei: Hobbie blinnked as what he just said registered in his brain.
Shelonei: "Then why don't YOU marry her, smartass!?!" Wes shouted at Hobbie before slamming the bedroom door shut.
Shelonei: Hobbie blinked, then turned and left. That was a good question.
Shelonei: He had an answer for that, though. The answer took the form in faces past. Kerren, Rogue, Lyanna.... Amanda. Yeah, that was why. All killed, or turned traitor. He didn't want that to happen with Feni.
Shelonei: However, where the sith would he go now? Back to drown himself in work?
Shelonei: Probably. He walked past an apartment with an open door, and an updated body count he heard from the holovid within. 410. And just next door. He turned his steps toward Feni's place again.
Rogue Mechanic: Fen, still buried in old datafiles and holo recordings of crew members from her old posts, was rather enjoying remembering how Keisha had beat the crap out of Rafe for having a son he refused to acknowledge.
Shelonei: Hobbie raised a hand, then hesitated a moment before knocking gently on the door. Perhaps she wouldn't hear him.
Rogue Mechanic: "Come in!" She called, his knock having come at one of the quieter sessions with Keisha, the one where they both sat in silence, a sort of battle of the wills.
Shelonei: Hobbie came in, "I thought I told you to keep this locked."
Rogue Mechanic: "Sorry, I forgot." She shrugged, pausing the playback on an especially unflattering depiction of Keisha. Nostrils flared and a bit of spittle flying from her mouth, making it seem like the blobs were going to land on Fen's desk.
Shelonei: "Maybe I should take up residence out in the hall by your door, then, if you keep forgetting, Fen." he sighed, then raised an eyebrow at the holo.
Rogue Mechanic: She followed his curious glance before laughing. "A woman who had...well...parentage problems. She had something of a temper too." HEr laughter died to a chuckle before she turned a deeply apologetic look on Hobbie. "I'll be
Rogue Mechanic: better about remembering, I promise. How's Wes?" Subject change!
Shelonei: Hobbie's mood noticeably darkned, "He's fine."
Rogue Mechanic: Her turn to quirk a brow. "Why don't I believe you?
Shelonei: "Really, he's fine!" Hobbi spread his hands to either side.
Rogue Mechanic: "Hobbie? What aren't you telling me?"
Shelonei: "He burned his dinner."
Rogue Mechanic: "Huh?"
Shelonei: "He burned his dinner, nearly set the kitchen on fire."
Rogue Mechanic: "How'd that happen?" Sensing that there was a deeper reason here.
Shelonei: "Dunno, it was on fire when I got there."
Rogue Mechanic: "Oh. You weren't there for very long. I wasn't expecting to see you again until tomorrow. HE busy?"
Rogue Mechanic: "Or did you miss me that much?" Teasing grin.
Shelonei: Hobbie shrugged, "He needed to shower off the extinguisher chemicals."
Shelonei: yeah, Hobbie is SO skirting t hings.
Rogue Mechanic: Fen can tell, but lets it lie for now. "I hope he's alright. Chemical burns can really suck." Kicking up her feet, she finally shut off the holo display. "So you come back to laugh at my old collegues, or did you pity my task
Rogue Mechanic: that much that you wanted to help?"
Shelonei: He shrugged, still standing. "Checking in... things are getting hairy out thre"
Rogue Mechanic: That wiped the grin from her face real quick. "What's the count up to?"
Shelonei: "Four hundred ten... and likely still rising," he told her quietly.
Rogue Mechanic: She swore barely beneath her breath, words slipping from her lips that rarely left those of spacers and pirates. "I certainly hope whatever his plan is comes to fruition soon."
Shelonei: "I just hope he either stops soon, or someone catches him." He shook his head, "I'm sorry." He moved to sit beside her.
Rogue Mechanic: "I'm half tempted to turn him in myself if it'll just see an end to this. I really like Kyp, but this is getting out of hand." She sighed softly, turning a wide eyed and worried look on Hobbie.
Shelonei: He simply nodded and rested a hand comfourtingly on her shoudler. "I know."
Shelonei: Repost: He simply nodded and reested a hand comfourtingly on her shoulder. "I know."
Rogue Mechanic: HEr hand came up to pat Hobbie's. She had no other response save the nearly blank stare threatening to take over her face.
Shelonei: "Fen..." Hobbie sighed. "Fen, I won't let anything happen to you."
Rogue Mechanic: "It's not me I'm worried about. It's all those other people out there who don't know him. Who judge him."
Shelonei: "From what I saw, the only people who had anything to fear were people who assault women and children malevolently. I HOPE that is it... but I don't trust him. I can't give you any comfourt."
Rogue Mechanic: She smiled mildly up at him, "I don't expect any. I know you don't like Kyp, and I can even see why" especially now, "But I see a lot of Chris in him" Chris being her best friend, childhood sweetheart, etc.
Shelonei: "Who's Chris?"
Rogue Mechanic: "Uhm...how do I describe Chris? Chris was my best friend when I was growing up, and the reason I left Corellia." Yup, that about described it.
Shelonei: "Ah," he nodded. "Fair enough." He sighed and looked down at their hands.
Rogue Mechanic: "Credit for your thoughts, boss?"
Shelonei: "My thoughts aren't worth that much."
Rogue Mechanic: "Are to me. Remember, you're always right, and so that means I can learn a lot from you," she grinned, hoping that was enough to lighten the mood. Though she doubted it.
Shelonei: "I was just thinking about how wrong I can be."
Shelonei: He smirked at the irony.
Rogue Mechanic: "Oh? What were you recently wrong about?"
Shelonei: "I..." he sighed. "Too much."
Rogue Mechanic: "Maybe if you share it with me I can point out where you're wrong about being wrong?" Hopeful smile.
Shelonei: "Don't ask me to do that, Fen."
Rogue Mechanic: "I just did. I wouldn't have asked if I hadn't meant it. C'mon, you can tell me anything." Right? Though that last bit was most definately unspoken, but rather shone in her eyes.
Shelonei: "I had a.... talk.... with Wes just now." he said quietly. "It wasn't exactly nice."
Rogue Mechanic: "About?" Please don't say me. Please don't say me.
Shelonei: "Stuff."
Rogue Mechanic: "Stuff? You had a not so nice talk about 'stuff'?" She started to roll her eyes, though stopped. "What kind of stuff?"
Shelonei: "Fen..." he sighed. "Faults, we talked about fault."
Rogue Mechanic: "Hobbie," she pleaded softly, taking his hands in hers. "How am I supposed to be there for the two of you and understand the two of you if you both keep everything from me?"
Shelonei: "Do you trust me at all, Fen? You say I'm often right, but do you trust me?"
Rogue Mechanic: "Very much, yes."
Shelonei: "Then trust me when I say you really don't want to know."
Rogue Mechanic: She squeezed his hands briefly before smiling a bit. "Hobbie, I'd lay my life and my safety in your hands faster than I can blink my eyes, but when it comes to you and Wes arguing, you tend to be a bit tight lipped. Please, just
Rogue Mechanic: tell me already?"
Shelonei: "No."
Shelonei: He's a stubborn one. comes with the territory of being a pilot.
Rogue Mechanic: "Yes." She can be just as stubborn, her face hardening to a nice, solid blankness that when held for too long, could, well, break jsut about anyone. Within reason of course.
Shelonei: "I can't. Fen. Please don't make me."
Rogue Mechanic: She studied his eyes for a very long, very quiet moment, in which not even her breathing was heard. Mostly because she was holding her breath. Finally, "At least, then, tell me the general idea of what you two argued about?"
Shelonei: "Who's a bigger idiot... and who's to bear blame for something."
Shelonei: He sighed and looked down at his hands, which he'd folded into his lap. "Seems I am on both counts.'
Rogue Mechanic: "Why's that?" The question had slipped from her lips before she could stop it.
Shelonei: "Both things are tied. I was an idiot for trying to do something and because that something was done, something else happened and the blame falls to my feet."
Rogue Mechanic: "Am I to understand that something is the thing you don't want to tell me?"
Shelonei: He shrugged, "Something like that."
Rogue Mechanic: "So that means I should get that part of the story from Wes," She was hoping to bait him.
Shelonei: Hobbie worked his jaw, looked away, and said nothing as he shrugged.
Rogue Mechanic: "Damnit, Hobbie. Just frelling tell me already? You mentioned it and so now the curiosity is killing me."
Shelonei: He refrained from yelling in frustration. "Miss Durak, it's your own fault for trying to get me to say!"
Rogue Mechanic: That took her by a bit of surprise. "Well Mr Klivian, I'm willing to accept the consequences of my curiosity. So just spill it"
Shelonei: He got up and moved to the window. "You. We were talking about you," he said without looking at her, taking up his look out the window and try not to feel pose.
Rogue Mechanic: "I knew that part, Hobbie," she added in a softer tone this time. "What I want to know is what it is that has you so bothered," her voice, no longer calling from the couch was at his side, her hand sliding up his back comfortingly.
Shelonei: "I can't tell you, Fen. I should, but I can't."
Rogue Mechanic: "Sure you can. If you should, then go for it. What can it hurt?"
Shelonei: "You..." he whispered still not looking at her. Hoping she didn't hear him.
Rogue Mechanic: Fat chance of that, what with her standing next to him and all. "How so?"
Shelonei: He sighed.
Rogue Mechanic: "Hobbie, please? It'd mean a lot to me," she spoke softly, rubbing his back gently.
Shelonei: "Are you absolutelysure?"
Rogue Mechanic: She nodded once in reply. "Positive."
Shelonei: He sighed. "I shouldn't have tried to get you and Wes together. If I hadn't, then..." he sighed. "Then a lot of things that are happening right now wouldn't be."
Rogue Mechanic: Her hand moved to his waist, hugging him loosely. "Hobbie, you can't blame yourself for this," this being the budding life that rested beneath her other hand. "There can't possibly be a way that this is your fault."
Shelonei: "There are other opinions on that."
Rogue Mechanic: "Oh? Such as?"
Shelonei: He shook his head, "No Fen. Not this time.
Shelonei: "
Rogue Mechanic: "LEt me guess. Wes thought of blaming you for this?" Not really a question as she bowed her head and sighed. "It's true then. I really am ruining his life."
Shelonei: "No you're not. He's just too much of a ferrocrete-brain to realise it."
Shelonei: did he sound bitter? Heck yeah.
Rogue Mechanic: Bitterness that she recognized all too well in his voice. Her eyes lifted to his slowly, a deep rooted question with in her own hues of green, though it would take a lot to bring it to her lips.
Shelonei: He looked away, feeling almost guilty.
Rogue Mechanic: And just like earlier today, she reached up and turned his face back to hers by way of his chin. "Hobbie, you're one of the people I hold most dear. It breaks my heart to see you like this. Please, don't bear it alone?" She was
Rogue Mechanic: thinking more along the lines of him keeping secret something horrible that Wes had said.
Shelonei: "I'm sorry, Fen. Not this time," he said quietly, turning to look back out the window. And, just like earlier that evenin, he leaned against the windowframe as he looked out at busy coruscant.
Rogue Mechanic: She hugged him tightly, wrapping her arms fondly around his waist. HEr chin rested on his shoudler as she looked up at him, studying his profile in silence. She loved his nose. He has a great nose. Very straight and strong.
Shelonei: "Fen?" his eyes followed the dance of speeder traffic outside.
Rogue Mechanic: "Yeah, Hobbs?"
Shelonei: "You don't have to answer me. but.... are you in love with Wes?"
Rogue Mechanic: At first, it would seem she wasn't going to answer him, but finally her eyes tore away from his features as she rested her cheek against his shoulder instead of her chin, adding her gaze to the bustle outside. "I don't know. I
Rogue Mechanic: love him, sure, but-" her voice trailed off, fading to a softly frustrated whisper.
Shelonei: His answering sigh was eloquent in its wordlessness.
Rogue Mechanic: As all of his answering sighs were, though this time she wished to know more. "Hobbie?"
Shelonei: "Hm?"
Rogue Mechanic: "Can you give me any reason why I shouldn't love Wes?"
Shelonei: He stiffened, his breath catching in his throat.
Rogue Mechanic: She took that as a sign he had an answer, so she looked up at him again, her eyes more intent on his. "What is it?"
Shelonei: Then why don't YOU marry her, smartass!?! Wes' parting shot rang in his mind. Because if I do, she'll die, and I don't want to lose her...
Shelonei: He shook his head and looked away with a sigh. "Don't...."
Rogue Mechanic: Her forehead wrinkled in worry, concern, a bit of fear for her friend. Arms tightened around him as she turned a bit to hug him properly rather than from the side, her cheek pressing against his so she could whisper in his ear,
Rogue Mechanic: "Hobbie, don't worry. I promise it'll all work out alright. I love you far too much to let things be bad for too long." She kissed his cheek before tilting her head on his shoulder.
Shelonei: Instinctively, Hobbie raised his arms to encircle her and embrace her tightly.
Rogue Mechanic: The welcome contact and warm embrace carried on for long moments. Fenig truly didn't wish to be the one to break it either, knowing the hug was therapeutic not only for Hobbie, but herself as well.
Shelonei: After a time all too short, Hobbie pulled away. He should leave before he did something they'd regret. "I've gotta go...."
Rogue Mechanic: She looked up at him, reluctant to nod. "Are you sure?"
Shelonei: He hesitated. No. "Yes."
Rogue Mechanic: She saw the hesitation, the indecision so clear on his face. So if she was going to get any kind of answers, help Hobbie get past this funk, she'd have to be the bold one. "Please stay?"
Shelonei: He looked down at t he floor, "I really shouldn't...."
Rogue Mechanic: "So? Stay anyway. I don't want you to go." She didn't want to be alone and she sure as sithspit didn't want him to be alone.
Shelonei: He sighed, "Alright, I'll stay."
Rogue Mechanic: "Thank you," she nearly whispered, smiling fondly up at her dearest friend before placing a warm kiss on his cheek.
Shelonei: "you're welcome," he said honestly. but he pulled away again, and tried to distance himself. Yes, distance good.
Rogue Mechanic: Her arms weren't letting go. In her mind, she would have sworn he needed this.
Shelonei: "Please Fen... let me go. I already promise I'd stay." Let me go before I do something stupid, mor elike it.
Shelonei: Sith, when things died down again, he was gonna spend a month at the bottom of the pool thinking
Rogue Mechanic: That brought a frown to her face, one that wrinkled her chin in concern. She loosened her hug on him, leaning back and looking up at him. "Hobbie, please just tell me what's wrong? Please?" She nearly begged, pleaded, and a
Rogue Mechanic: thesaurus of other words, with him.
Shelonei: "I... need to go use the 'fresher."
Shelonei: He reached bhind himself and pied her hands free and made a coward's escape.
Rogue Mechanic: She nodded, wrapping her arms around her stomach as she watched him go.
Shelonei: He shut the 'fresher behind himself and turned on the faucent to get some cold water to splash on his face.
Shelonei: "Get a hold of yourself, Hobs," he said quietly to himself.
Rogue Mechanic: Sighing heavily, she shook her head and sank to the couch. "Gods I wish I knew what happened at Wes'," she murmured to herself, tempted to comm him and ask, but thought better of it. The more you come into unnecessary contact with
Rogue Mechanic: Wes, the more he's going to pull away. Give him time. Seems her inner monologue wanted to be nice to her tonight.
Shelonei: He finally tured off the water and looked at himself reprimandingly in the mirror as he braced himself on the counter.
Shelonei: "Get a hold of yourself, Klivian. Wes'll come around, and you better not do anyting to hinder that." I hope.... or do I?
Rogue Mechanic: Starin at the door, she wondered if he was ever coming out of there. She kenw he hadn't run off since there were no windows in her 'fresher.
